With Easter just around the corner, it’s a time of road trips and plenty of chocolate.

Adding small but meaningful healthy habits into your daily life can be a positive step that quickly becomes routine!

Some everyday habits that you can include into your life include:

⭐Take regular breaks to move. This goes hand in hand with not sitting for long periods of the day.

⭐Stay hydrated, especially as the warm weather continues.

⭐ Practice strengthening exercises.

⭐Align your workspace. Ensure that when you are sitting (no matter for how long) that you are ergonomically adjusted to prevent mobility issues.

Which of these habits will you try today?

If you’re living with lower back pain, a physio may be able to help.

As allied health professionals, there are a number of ways we assess and help our patients manage lower back pain.

1. Comprehensive assessments
2. Education & helping you understand pain
3. Exercise therapy
4. Manual therapy
5. Long-term self-management and flare up management
6. Strategies to reduce risk of recurrence

Do you know the difference between acute pain and persistent pain?

Acute pain lasts less than 6 weeks and is linked to a specific injury.

On the other hand, persistent pain lasts more than 12 weeks. Persistent pain can be more complex and often reflects changes in the sensitivity of the nervous system.

If you’re living with pain, a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist may be able to assist. Contact our friendly team today to find out more.

Life is busy, we understand.

While we won’t go on and on about all of the ways stress can potentially contribute negatively to our overall wellbeing, we will say it’s important to find positive ways to manage stress where possible.

This can be as simple as finding time for relaxation, doing something you love, taking a daily morning walk, or practicing mindful breathing.

How do you manage stress in your day-to-day life?

For those of us with lower back pain, it means there could be a range of complex interactions between tissues, movement, nervous system sensitivity, and psychosocial factors that could be contributing to your pain.
