This page is not just for sharing about my events, it's also for sharing my passions.
I'm passionate about many things, including the environment and supporting local small business.
At one time I would have refused to buy produce that was in a bag like this. But they started popping up during Covid at my local farmers market in Lismore.
The bags were 'mandatory' under Covid rules but for the stallholders it was another expense among a myriad of rules to allow them to keep trading.
For me as a consumer it meant choosing not to purchase the bag was no longer available to me.
The solution? Take the produce out and return the bag to the stallholders, who were more than happy to wash and reuse rather than having to purchase more.
While my local fruit shops generally don't reuse them, the vendors at the farmers market are still happy to reuse.
So I keep them and recycle when I'm down in Lismore, supporting the farmers and the environment.
This is a small action and the environment definitely needs more action from government and big business. I'll keep calling for this to happen, and in the meantime I'll continue to do my small actions to help the whole 😊🙏
P.S. this post is another small action to support our community to get on board. Every little bit helps 😊
