Let’s talk about Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) — because no one prepares you for this part of the journey ✨

GSM is a collection of symptoms affecting the vulv4, v@gina, bladder, and pelvic floor due to decreasing oestrogen during perimenopause and menopause ⬇️ You don’t need to have been pregnant or given birth to experience GSM!🫵🏻

Common symptoms include:
V@ginal dryness or burning 🔥
• Pain during s3x ❌
• Frequent UTIs or urinary leakage/urgency 🚽
• Pelvic heaviness or pressure ⚖️

What’s less talked about is how this links to sarcopenia of the pelvic floor — the gradual loss of muscle mass and strength that can weaken bladder control and pelvic support over time ⚡ The good news is that you can train your pelvic floor to be strong and resilient💪🏼
