Muscle Repair Needs Energy
Even during rest, injury recovery increases energy demands—by up to 20% in severe cases!

▶️ "I'm not going to lie, this race was tough 💪 It pushed us to our limits, both physically and mentally. But we did it! 🎉 We crossed that finish line, and we couldn't be more proud of ourselves.

When Tephy invited me to do this race in 2016 (Travessia Torres Tramandai - 81km on the beach 🏖️) as a double, we genuinely thought we could win the mixed doubles, as she was always an excellent runner and I was quite fit, an average-good runner.

However, a few things went against us during the race, such as nutrition issues and muscle fatigue 🦵😫

Honestly, I don't even remember which position we finished in, but I still remember the struggle, until the recent races 🏁 For those who love running 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️, at that time I was able to sustain a pace under 4' per kilometer for a long time, but ended up running at an 8' per kilometer pace 🤯 – yes, I think maybe I can walk faster than that right now 😂

As a chiropractor, I'm always telling my patients about the importance of pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones. I tell them that it's okay to feel uncomfortable, to feel challenged 💪 Because it's in those moments of discomfort that we grow the most 📈 Obviously, you have to be rational about it 🧠

So, if you're feeling stuck in a rut, I challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone 👣

Try something new, something that scares you a little bit 😨 You might just surprise yourself and will never forget those memories 🧠❤️"
