We have some big news to share with our valued clients....

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Agnes Banks Equine Clinic is under new ownership.

Our new practice owners are a trio of dedicated equine veterinarians, all of whom have a long history with ABEC; Christine Smith, Lauren Jordan and Hadley Willsallen. Hadley started her internship at ABEC in 2003, during which time Lauren came along as a work experience student. Hadley went on to specialise in surgery and work as a surgical consultant all across Australia. After finishing vet school, Lauren started at ABEC as an intern in 2011, just after Christine had joined the practice as a surgeon in 2010. Lauren developed a passion for surgery and went off to specialise in the USA, before returning to the practice in 2017 as a surgeon. During this time, Christine had become practice owner and built ABEC into a highly reputable full-service equine practice.

We hope that with our passion for this practice and this community we can continue the legacy of Agnes Banks Equine Clinic.

We are having a working bee tomorrow afternoon at the clinic, with a lunch hosted by Randlab at 1pm. Please come along and share some food and drinks and help us to go back to (blue) grassroots.

Mel Turner - Horse Massage Therapy

In my work, I tend to a variety of horses that have a range of jobs, from the loyal pony club warrior to high-level competition horses. No matter what their job is, they all deserve to be treated the same way.

What ever your chosen discipline, whether its Dressage, Cross Country, Show Jumping, Endurance or Trail Riding, as horse owners you invest a lot of time in training yourself and your horses, but, have you taken a moment to stop and think as to when your equine partner had a bodywork session?

Regular bodywork helps your horse maintain a healthy musculoskeletal system by releasing tension and spasm, it also assists with range of motion (flexibility), improved posture and balance and aids in injury prevention and recovery.

In my sessions, I offer a range of techniques from Sports Massage Therapy, Acupressure, Red Light / Photonic Therapy all which can help your horse move more comfortably and to perform better in their job.
