RUN AS 1 for 2020!

Today is the 16th of August which was our planned date for Run as 1 for Cystic Fibrosis 2020. Unfortunately due to Covid it was cancelled this year.

Please consider going for a jog or dog walk in your red and white singlets today and take a pic and share in comments below!

So lovely to see our Mayor Greg Williamson and the Mackay Regional Council supporting Cystic Fibrosis awareness 🌹🌹🌹
This is a condition which effects so many in our community, we are very grateful for your support!

May is the national Cystic Fibrosis (CF) awareness month.

Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disorder that affects the lungs, pancreas, liver, kidneys and intestines. It affects approximately 100 babies born every year in Australia. CF is a condition that is able to be treated much better today but it still faces daily challenges.

🌹🌹🌹 Friday, May 24 is 65 Roses Day and those who want to help are encouraged to visit www.cfwa.org.au to buy roses in support.

RUN AS 1 CANCELLED FOR 2020 DUE TO COVID-19

The Run as 1 team would like to thank all of our participants, sponsors, volunteers and supporters for their contribution to our events over the years. Sadly, we have decided to cancel this year's event in light of COVID-19. However, if you are still wishing to support Cystic Fibrosis research in 2020, as we are, please refer to the account details below to donate. The Run as 1 team hopes that you and your families are safe and healthy in this uncertain time. We urge you to follow all recommendations and restrictions in place by the Australian Government and to please consider downloading the COVIDSafe app. These guidelines are especially relevant to keeping all living with cystic fibrosis safe in our community.

At this stage a new date has not been set.

Please stay safe in these uncertain times and keep in mind those who are vulnerable. These people include all people living with Cystic Fibrosis.

CF Queensland, CFACT and CFA have been working hard to ensure our community has access to supermarket delivery services at this time. Woolies has set up a “Priority Assistance” service with dedicated delivery windows for those with compromised immunity or who are required to self isolate.
