Dr Ljiljana Miljkovic-Petkovic understands that every woman's body is unique, which is why she strives to provide excellent obstetric and gynaecological care to women of all ages. Dr Ljiljana prides herself on being the first gynaecological practice in Newcastle to offer the MonaLisa Touch laser treatment - a painless and minimally invasive laser to relieve vaginal discomfort such as dryness, burn

Yesterday we had a beautiful celebration of my retirement from Obstetrics. Thank you so much for all colleagues and midwives from Newcastle Private and John Hunter Hospital who attended. That was a trip down 26 years of memory lane, happy and tearful. Special thanks to Steph for wonderful organisation and Mel for baking a beatiful cake and cupcakes.

Our new, gynaecology only practice is open.
We are excited to welcome you and look after all our existing and new patients. Our emphasys is to provide excellent and timely care for semi-urgent gynaecology: so if you had an abnormal-irregular cervical smear and need a colposcopy or if you have a bleeding after menopause we are your first stop. Please email us referral from your GP so we can triage you for an appointment within a couple of weeks.

End of an era and a new beginning.

Last month our practice closed. It was my absolute privilege and honour to look after women and their families in Newcastle and the Hunter region for more than 25 years. I would like to thank all of you who entrusted me to be part of your journey in the pregnancy and birth of your special babies. Thanks also to the wonderful staff at Newcastle Private Hospital for your support over the years.

It is now time for me to take a well deserved break.

In January 2025, we will be opening a new gynaecology only practice. Follow our page more updates.

Dr Ljiljana attended 40th ESHRE ( European Society Of Human Reproduction and Embryology) meeting in Amsterdam. Dr Ljiljana attended first Human Reproduction world meeting 34 years ago when she presented part of her PhD thesis.
This year meeting was attended by nearly 12000 delegates worldwide and had broad range of topics:
Pregnancy loss: Emotional toll for parents and providers
AI in medical practice where LLM-large language model analyse hundreds of parameters in 126000 messages, phone calls and emails in 3 hrs of computing time to help improve communication with patients
More than 30 newly discovered genes that block maturation of egg or fertilisation to many other topics.
Very successful meeting.
