Our resident Myotherapist Lee has added a variety of extra soft tissue techniques to his practice recently. One technique in particular is Kinetic Chain Release (KCR). The KCR approach uses a combination of gentle mobilisations and stretches to improve mobility and function for a wide variety of both spinal and peripheral complaints. Our Myotherapist Lee, took time out in February to complete a course in Systematic Kinesiology.

Systematic Kinesiology is a natural health care system which uses gentle muscle testing to evaluate the structural, nutritional, energetical and emotional functions of the body. Systematic Kinesiology finds imbalances in the body and uses a series of techniques to bring the body back into balance.

Most other Kinesiologies have taken parts of Systematic/Applied Kinesiology and use them separately or have taken Systematic/Applied Kinesiology apart and created their own systems.

Lee’s plan is to incorporate these skills into his Myotherapy treatments along with the many other tools, applications and skills that he has gained over the past 20 years in practice. By doing this Lee will be able to enhance our patients' soft tissue care and further assist in patient rehabilitation, health and wellbeing goals.

Merry Christmas Darwin. We will be open over the Xmas, New Year period, our opening hours are listed below. We will all be working until the close of business Monday the 23rd of December. Only David, our resident Acupuncturist will be working Xmas eve until Midday. We will reopen on Friday the 27th of December as per usual. We will then only be closed on New Years Day.

Allison is currently studying a Lactation Consultancy course, this will allow her to sit her IBCLC exam to become a board certified Lactation Consultant. This will help her to support mothers and babies with any breast feeding difficulties and concerns.

We’ve had a change of plan, now we are looking for a Part Timer. Looking for a part time receptionist to work along side 2 existing part timers. Work roughly four 4.5 hour shifts a week, more hours will be available when other team members are unwell or on leave. Flexibility will be required. We are looking for a new full time practice manager/ receptionist to join our team. After more than 5 years of an unchanged staff line up, Natalie our welcoming receptionist will be leaving us and Deb will be reducing her hours to part time.

This is a full time position, 36 hours a week, 4 days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. The successful candidate will be in charge of the general running of the admin side of the clinic for our 6 varied practitioners. Ranging from reception and waiting room duties, stock control, 3rd party billings, and basic data entry.

Training will be provided and a commitment to outstanding customer service, self –motivation and compassion is essential. Previous experience in a health care setting is an advantage.
