We're looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to join our team in Westmead, Sydney.

This role is a is a full-time, salaried position, reporting to our Director of Nursing & Operations. You will provide safe, high-quality client-centred care, whilst also ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day operations such as people management, rostering and payroll, financial planning and budget management, managing clinical & OHS risk and ensuring best practice and quality care.
Our MSI Westmead clinic is open across Monday to Friday, with lists providing Surgical Termination of Pregnancy, Medical Termination of Pregnancy, Long-Acting-Reversible-Contraception, and Vasectomy.

✨ What we are looking for:
🔹Pro-choice advocate
🔹Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration
🔹Extensive management experience in a clinical setting
🔹Knowledge of National Accreditation Standards and ACORN standards
🔹Ability to manage budgets and staffing requirements
🔹Experience achieving high clinical standards
🔹Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
🔹Leadership skills that promote a positive team culture

Today is !

Contraception is life-changing. The ability to choose if or when to become pregnant has the power to:

🎓 Help girls stay in school
💪 Support women to lead
🌍 Build a gender equal world

But access to contraception is not guaranteed.

Around the world, 257 million women want to use contraception but have no access to it. And in the face of international aid cuts, millions more women and girls risk losing vital reproductive healthcare.

That's why we're fighting for a future where everyone has the power to choose.

🚨 Right now, anti-choice groups are standing outside our clinics around the world.

Their American-led '40 Days for Life' begins today — 40 days of round-the-clock protests outside abortion clinics.

In previous years, anti-choice groups have intimidated, insulted, and filmed people accessing and providing care, and even tried to block access to clinics.

The fact that these protests take place during is a stark reminder that our right to choose is still under attack.

In Australia, we have secured Safe Access Zones in every state and territory in Australia, preventing people from protesting within 150m of abortion clinics.

However, the anti-choice creep is happening right here in Australia. Every year, we see legislation attempting to restrict our laws entering parliaments at the federal, states and territory level. Just this month, a bill aimed at restricting abortion rights was introduced to the South Australian parliament.

It's important to stay vigilant, and keep fighting for choice, both at home and overseas✊

Contraception: doing more for gender equality than most world leaders. 👀

While leaders gather in New York for United Nations General Assembly, we’re reminding them that reproductive choice is essential to gender equality.

Right outside the UN entrance, our global colleagues put up this giant pillboard to keep choice on the global agenda. Because when reproductive rights are under attack around the world, it’s more important than ever to stand up and say: choice matters.

For R-U-OK Day, we want to remind you that it's completely normal to experience a whirlwind of emotions, from anxiety and sadness to relief and everything in between. There's no "right" way to feel, and every single one of your emotions is valid.

Prioritising your mental wellbeing should be part of this process. Whether that looks like talking to a pro-choice counsellor, leaning on a trusted friend, or simply giving yourself permission to rest and process, it's all a sign of strength.
