Do you ever feel that ache for how life used to be?

It's now been termed the 'Millennial Ache' but I think it is an ache for anyone that was alive before the technology boom.

Before we were constantly reachable.
Before “busy” became a badge of honour.
Before FOMO and Influencer, and and and and and..

We grew up in a time where the phone was on the wall and you had to rip to around the corner for some privacy.
You had to chat to your boyfriends mum, before you could talk to them (Hi, Kathy!)
You played outside until it was dark and Mum yelled from the back verandah 'DINNERS READY'.
You’d record songs off the radio and try to avoid the ads.
You met your friends and parents at the time and place that was previously arranged and didn't rely on devices to track each other.
We weren’t counting our steps, giving two s**ts about how many likes we got, or who had what fancy holiday - we were just being.

And now
life feels so full it’s almost claustrophobic.
We’re surrounded by stuff, by noise, by constant stimulation.
And beneath it all, there’s this quiet ache for simplicity.
For breathing room.
For space.

That’s what Evoke Cleanse was created for.

It’s a gentle, grounding return to simplicity — a way to clear out the noise, the clutter, and the emotional static that’s built up over years of “go, do, achieve.”

15–20 minutes a day to reset.
No performance. No pressure. No fluff.

If you’ve been craving that sense of calm you used to feel before the world got so loud — this is it.

We start Monday.

I saw John Williamson last night in concert with my “little” nephew

Phenomenal.

His last song of the night was “please don’t forget me” and there is a line that says “if you feel real good now my job is done”. His legacy of making people smile and feel all the feels relating to his music is astounding.

So many could learn so much from listening to the lyrics of his songs - especially when it pertains to greed, gluttony and defacement of rural land.

His legacy is to leave the world with his music. What is yours going to be? How have you made the world a better place?

“The Useful Box”

Do you remember Play School’s “useful box”?
When I was little, I had one too — tucked neatly under my bed. It was full of scraps of paper, old ribbons, buttons, bits of string
all those “useful” things that I just knew I’d need one day. Mum loved it (Narrator: She did not).

Looking back, I realise that box wasn’t just full of art supplies — it was full of safety. A box full of 'just in case' and if anyone ever asked if I had something - you bet your bottom dollar I did!
You see, I grew up during the drought, where we learned not to waste, to make do, to hold on — just in case. You didn’t throw something out because you never knew when you might need it again, because there wasn't any money to buy it again.

And I think that’s stayed with me.
Even now, I sometimes find it hard to let go of things — not because I need them, but because some part of me remembers that fear of not having enough.

But as I get older, I’m learning that trust is the new form of safety.
That I can let go, and still be okay.

Every time I declutter or clear a space, I feel that little girl in me exhale — the one who kept everything “just in case.”

That’s what the Evoke Cleanse is really about — not just throwing things out, but understanding why we hold on.
The stories, the patterns, the memories — and finding freedom in releasing them gently.

If you’ve got your own “useful box” (literal or emotional) that’s ready to be sorted through, then come on - www.evokekinesiology.com.au/evokecleanse or link in bio.

Signups close on Sunday friends.

When the Appliances Start Talking

Every time I start clearing stuck energy from my base chakra, through meditation, working on myself and creating these programs, something strange happens.

Appliances start breaking down. I kid you not.
This time it was the dryer and the microwave (we had bloody flames in the thing!) Both gone. Bye Bye. Last time - washing machine, dishwasher. Time before computer and fridge.

Now, the old me might’ve been frustrated (who wants to deal with that kind of chaos, right?). But I’ve learned to recognise the pattern — when energy starts shifting, the physical world often follows.

The base chakra is all about safety, stability, home, and the foundations we build life on. So when we begin to clear the old, anything that no longer aligns with that new vibration tends to
well, combust. đŸ”„ (Pun definitely intended)

It’s not bad luck. It’s a sign.
Out with the old.
Making space for the new.

And that’s exactly what this season of the Evoke Cleanse is about — clearing out the heavy, the stagnant, and the things that keep us tied to the past (whether it’s clutter, emotions, or even broken appliances 🙃).

Because, guess what - I've borrowed a dryer, an old school one and it is SO MUCH BETTER than the fancy heat pump condenser one I had that took 7 business days to dry towels. So I'm going back to the vented dryer and popping it in the garage. Stuff dries so quickly, and it doesn't keep people awake!

Winner winner, chicken dinner (unless you need that cooked in the miccy wave - sorry can't help! haha)

This is me. Sitting at the table after having lunch - pondering ALL THE THINGS
I should do some work
How can we get to where we want to be - it seems impossible.
Is Billy having a s**t childhood or a good one?
I feel bad that he doesn’t have anyone his own age to hang with
I’d love for people to call in a say hello. People dont do that anymore. Why?
I’m over the monotony of being a mum right now, my brain is craving some stimulation
There is so much clutter, but we don’t even have much stuff - why is there so much clutter?
Should we move back to Horsham?
Should we stay down here?
How am I going to work with a little one?
Gosh we need a holiday - haven’t had on since 2019. Financially - not possible right now.
Why does every time I open my wallet - $50 fly put?
Am I raising good kids?
When will Sadie be able to eat food without having a reaction?

You know what I need - to work on my base chakra, clear the physical crap around me and pop a plan in place.

Everything listed above I can have some sort of influence over. But it requires action. And when you’re feeling overwhelmed - action that is efficient is near on impossible. So - back to the drawing board - of small steps, mini meditations and a whole lot of deep breathing.
