TWEED EQUESTRIAN SPRING SHOWJUMPING FESTIVAL // Another fabulous weekend of sport for us! 🤙

Willo came away with a couple of 1st places with 🐴Sammy and 🐴Ducky, I scored a 4th with 🐴Mal and enjoyed (almost) clear rounds in our 105cm's.

✨️Those blooming rider rails at the last fence ... he's such a great pony and its always usually my fault!

✨️Thank you to our Tweed & District Showjumping club for another great event, as weĺl as all the sponsors and supporters.

🏆Another win for Team Hiddy and Co last weekend at the Tweed & District Show Jumping Club Spring Showjumping Festival!🏆This time, it's Ducky's turn on the podium with a blue ribbon, piloted again beautifully by our daughter, Willo.

We purchased Ducky at the end of 2019 from local breeder and trainer Adrianne Bowden He was only 5 at the time, and Willo was only 11. Bred and started beautifully by Ades, we did all sorts with him in those early days ... trails, stockwork, team penning, dressage, eventing and show riding. When we properly began our showjumping focus only 4 years ago, the young combo easily competed in the 105cm's early on and were simply out to have some fun each round!

💛But as competitive showjumping quickly became our thing and the pressure to perform was felt by the pair ... little Ducky (and Willo) had a few moments ... and he didn't like the demands too much! So, once again, we've held space for him in the lower levels to develop and mature, and while Willo has both developed in her riding and had a break, we've kept him going nicely on the flat and with lots of regular showjumping, dressage and conditioning outings.

💛He's the type of horse we can just grab out of the paddock, take anywhere and enjoy a lovely pleasure ride with. Completely trustworthy and soft, put anyone on him. Absolutely beautiful, a testament to his stock horse breed and start. But not the type to just throw into the showjump ring and expect performance. He melts under the pressure, bless! 💛 So to those asking last weekend why he's still only at 70cm ... that's why! And what's the rush anyway? His development, health and well-being are most important to us, before results in the ring.

💛 You've got all the athletic ability in the world Ducky, and we've got you mate! We've given you time to mentally mature, while we too develop in the sport. BUT ... you've shown us that you're ready now at 11 to really go for it bud, so from here the only way is up!

💛Slow and steady consistency wins the race ... great work again team! Just got to keep chipping away at it, because the results don't happen over night.
