Summer’s coming…
Some people are already in shape and I’m still in my “hopeful mindset” shape 😄

The gym has seen me exactly twice:
- first time when I bought the membership
- second time when I lost it somewhere in the house

But it’s fine, I’ve got a plan:
if I don’t lose weight - I’ll just become a person with charisma and extra energy reserves 😎

So… how’s your “summer version” going?

Counting calories “by looking at the food” is like tracking your money “roughly.”
Feels like you only spent a little… and then suddenly your entire budget is gone 😄

Same with food:
“it’s just a couple of spoonfuls,”
“that doesn’t count,”
“a piece of cheese is protein anyway…”

…and before you know it, you’ve overeaten but you’re still convinced you were in a deficit.

Here’s the good news: you don’t need that kind of math.
The plate method keeps it simple half veggies, a quarter protein, a quarter carbs.
Your eye doesn’t lie when you actually give it clear boundaries 😏

Eat like a human, not a calculator and lose weight without the drama.

Think it’s the bean? Think again. It’s the brew. ☕ Our latest blog explains how unfiltered coffee (like French press and boiled coffee) can raise LDL, while simple swaps like paper-filtered pour-overs keep your morning ritual but protect your heart. Read more: https://wix.to/N74N8kR

The link between coffee and cholesterol depends entirely on your brewing method, not the coffee bean itself. Unfiltered coffee contains oily compounds that can raise LDL levels, but switching to paper-filtered methods provides a simple, heart-healthy solution.Coffee and Cholesterol: Does How You Bre...

Want to gain weight even faster? Easy: start a “strict diet.”

Cut out everything tasty, survive on lettuce leaves and guilt and your body will happily switch into “store absolutely everything” mode.

Then comes the inevitable binge. And boom, +3 kg over the weekend well earned, right?

Or… you could do it differently. No bans, no “I messed up now I punish myself” cycles. Just normal food and a system that actually works.

Yes, those “magic” plates do exist the ones where you eat everything and somehow get leaner.

Magic? Nope. Just someone finally stopped torturing themselves 🙂

You can eat everything. Seriously. Otherwise… what’s even the point of living? 😄

But there’s a catch…
If you eat everything all at once, one day you’ll become “everything all at once” too — a bit of a cookie, a dumpling, and slightly an éclair.

That’s why I’m all about balance. That perfect plate where:
🥦 half is “I’m doing great, I’m taking care of myself”
🍗 a quarter is “I need protein — I’m not a cactus”
🍝 another quarter is “life without carbs is just survival, not living”

And yes, dessert is allowed on top.
Because if you’re not allowed to enjoy your food, that’s not a meal — that’s a legal restriction.

Live deliciously… but with a use of brain 😉

✨ Your Metabolism, Your Power ✨

Working with a metabolic health expert isn’t about another “diet” it’s about understanding you.

Here’s what that journey looks like:

🔬 Comprehensive Assessment
We look at your full picture medical history, lifestyle, and blood work to truly understand your metabolism.

🥗 Personalised Nutrition
No more generic plans. Your meals are tailored to your body, your preferences, and your goals.

📈 Ongoing Support
Your metabolism evolves and so should your plan. Regular check-ins keep you moving forward.

🧠 Education & Empowerment
You’ll learn how your body works so you can make confident, informed choices long-term.

Imagine this…
✨ More energy
✨ Stable weight without restriction
✨ Reduced risk of chronic disease

That’s the goal sustainable, realistic health.

👩‍⚕️ Your support team may include GPs, endocrinologists, dietitians, and exercise physiologists — but for nutrition and lifestyle change, a dietitian-led approach can make all the difference.

💡 Getting started?
✔️ Keep a food diary
✔️ Bring recent test results
✔️ Write down your goals & questions

This isn’t a quick fix it’s a lifelong investment in your health. And you don’t have to do it alone.

Your body is unique. Your plan should be too.

Feeling stuck with persistent gut symptoms despite normal blood tests? Microbiome mapping reveals the invisible: which microbes are thriving, which are out of balance, and how they influence digestion, inflammation and even mood. That matters because sometimes symptoms come from a microbial imbalance not a vitamin or hormone the blood can show.

At FerFit Dietetics we offer evidence-based microbiome testing with clinical interpretation by Accredited Practising Dietitians, so you get practical, non-restrictive strategies tailored to your life and NDIS plan needs. For example, one client’s bloating and anxiety improved after we found a specific gram-bacterial overgrowth. Gram-negative bacteria in the gut produce lipopolysaccharides (LPS) that, when they leak into the bloodstream through a compromised intestinal barrier, trigger an immune response that drives chronic systemic inflammation. We shifted their plan away from an unnecessarily strict elimination diet toward targeted support and gentle reintroduction.

We also consider life stage and neurodiversity from children’s feeding challenges to women with PCOS or menopause and the food–mood connection for anxiety, ADHD and burnout. You don’t need to follow a strict diet to get better results; our approach prioritises long-term wellbeing over quick fixes.

Why a Personalised Nutrition Plan for Women is the Key to Sustainable Health 🌿

Scrolling through “perfect” meal plans and hormone-balancing trends? You’re not alone. But here’s the truth 👇
What works for someone else… might be exactly what’s not working for you.

I see it all the time women doing “everything right” yet still feeling tired, bloated, and frustrated. Why? Because your body isn’t generic. Your nutrition shouldn’t be either.

✨ A personalised approach changes everything:
Instead of restriction, we focus on alignment.

✔️ Supporting your hormones (think PCOS, thyroid, perimenopause)
✔️ Understanding how your body responds to food
✔️ Creating a plan that actually fits your real life (not a Pinterest version of it)

Because your needs at 25 are not your needs at 45. And your body will always give you feedback if you know how to listen.

💡 What happens when things finally align?
• You stop feeling bloated after meals
• Your energy becomes steady (goodbye 3pm crash ☕️)
• Cravings settle naturally
• Your mind feels clearer, and your sleep improves

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating a way of eating that supports your body long-term.

No more guessing. No more starting over every Monday.

Just a strategy that works with your biology not against it.

If you’re ready to move beyond generic advice and actually feel good in your body again… this is your sign 💛

Sweet treats aren’t the enemy. The enemy is eating them standing by the fridge at 11:47 pm pretending “this doesn’t count” 😄

With the plate method, you can have it ALL dessert included. Just not instead of life, but as a lovely continuation of it.

Balance is when you’ve got your veggies, your protein, and… a slice of happiness 🍰
And yes, the second slice? That’s basically a workout. For the soul.

Everyone around me is on a health journey - some are running, some are meditating, some are sipping smoothies made of spinach and pure optimism.

Me? I’m all about balance.

Balance is when, after a long exhausting day, you honestly admit:
yes, exercise is important…
but so is a cold beer it’s basically emotional fitness 🍺

Because what’s the real rule?
Everything is allowed… in moderation.

From Gut Distress to Vitality: The Science of Fibremaxxing 🌿

Still bloated, tired, and guessing what your gut needs? You’re not alone. Most people with Western diet fall short on fibre and your gut feels it.

Enter: Fibremaxxing 💡
A simple, science-backed strategy: aim for 30g+ of fibre daily from real, whole foods. Because fibre doesn’t just “help digestion” it feeds your gut microbiome, supporting your energy, metabolism, and even mood.

Your gut and brain are constantly communicating 🧠✨
When you eat enough fibre, your gut bacteria produce compounds that support serotonin, mental clarity, and stable energy. Less brain fog. More focus.

What does it look like? 🥗
• Oats + chia for breakfast
• Lentil or chickpea salad for lunch
• Veg + quinoa or brown rice for dinner

Important ⚠️
Don’t rush it.
→ Increase slowly (≈5g/week)
→ Stay hydrated 💧
→ Aim for 30 different plant foods weekly 🌈
