Huge shoutout to our Family First Care Ambassador, Kodi Nikorima, the Brisbane Veterans Jackals RLFC and the entire Defence community.

Kodi, who comes from a Veteran family himself, spent time with the Jackals players and staff talking connection, backing each other and the strength that comes from staying united, then put them through drills with the coach.

Proud to stand with a club making a real difference for our Veterans and current serving members.

Big thank you to everyone for making it happen and bring on the Brisbane 9’s this weekend! 🏉💙

Today, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we pause as a nation.

To honour the courage, sacrifice and resilience of those who served, those currently serving and those who never came home.

We remember them, we thank them and we carry their stories forward.

Each year at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, Australians pause to remember when the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War in 1918.

This year holds special meaning as we mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War, 75 years since the Korean War, and 110 years since the Gallipoli campaign, honouring the courage, sacrifice and mateship of all who have served.

In the lead up to Remembrance Day we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect, wear a poppy with pride and remember the lives that shaped our freedom.

This week we’re celebrating the purpose of Veterans Health Week 2025, recognising the importance of connection, movement, nourishment and thriving every day of the year across the whole veteran community.

The theme Connect, Move, Nourish: Thrive 365 reminds us that wellbeing isn’t limited to one week. It’s something we can all work on together, supporting veterans, families and those still serving 💙

Today we honour our War Widows 💙

On War Widows Day, we pause to recognise the incredible strength, courage and love of those who carry on the legacy of their loved ones.

We remember Mrs Jessie Vasey, who founded the War Widows Guild to create a sense of community and support for women who had given so much.

Today on Vietnam Veterans’ Day, we honour all Australians who served in the Vietnam War and remember their service and sacrifice.

Around 60,000 Australians served between 1962 and 1973. 523 Australians never returned home and thousands more were wounded.

Today also marks the 59th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, one of the most significant actions of the conflict.

Family First Care stands in gratitude and remembrance.
