Our time in Guinea draws to an end 💛
We have spent lots of time with babies and children with CP, strokes and neurodegenerative conditions, met many beautiful families, trained local physios and doctors and contributed to the set up of Sacre Coeur's physiotherapy department. It's been a privilege to be here but we look forward to seeing all our South West and Great Southern families again soon! 😊

Hi lovely families!

Ruan and Tarryn are heading to Guinea this Thursday evening to volunteer for two weeks at the country's first and only children's hospital. They are continuing to support the development of the paediatric physiotherapy department there.

If your child has outgrown any orthopaedic or specialist footwear (piedro boots, first walkers or billy shoes) and you would like to donate them to a child in Guinea, please contact Tarryn at 0479 081 885 to arrange a collection.

Meet our new Senior Physiotherapist - the wonderful Deb Mitchell. 😍🥳

Deb works out of our Margaret River (Refresh Physiotherapy) and Bunbury Clinics (Paed HQ) as well as servicing babies, children and teens in community settings.

Deb has worked in paediatric and disability fields since graduating from Curtin University in 2005. In 2021, she was awarded a Master of Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice with her research focused on pain expression in children and adolescents with Autism.

Her qualifications are:

Master of Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice, Monash University
Graduate Diploma in Clinical Rehabilitation, Flinders University
Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy), Curtin University of Technology

Not only is she very clever, but she is kind & FUN 🤩

Frame Running for the South West Community! 🏃✨
Starting this week and until next week! Athletics West is bringing the Access Athletics program to Bunbury! They are hosting 'Come & Try Frame Running' sessions at the Bunbury Regional Athletics Centre, and we want you to join us.

Supported by Rebound WA, this program is a fantastic opportunity for South West locals (aged 8 to adult) with cerebral palsy or any disability requiring mobility assistance to experience the freedom of running in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Whether you're trying a FrameRunner for the first time or looking to build your skills, you are welcome to join!

A little while ago, Annie was invited to present her research at the APA Conference in Adelaide on the feasibility of running training groups for children with hypermobility. Annie was the chief investigator on the project alongside other amazing physiotherapists, and the results were very positive.

We’re grateful to have Annie on our team, where she shares her clinical expertise and contributes to improving healthcare in the South West. In 2025, we’ve already run two running groups and are planning more in 2026. Get in touch if you’d like to find out more 🙂

It was wonderful to be in Katanning again this week for our monthly outreach!

This is the welcoming clinic space we work from on our trips, it used to be the old Physiotherapy clinic in town! We know that currently, there are no private Physiotherapy services in Katanning, let alone specialised services for children, and we're proud to help fill that gap.

This month marks one whole year since we started this outreach program. It has been amazing to see the progress the children have made in this time, which shows just how beneficial even monthly expert sessions can be.

Our plan is to continue this service long-term. We believe expert healthcare should be accessible for all children, regardless of their geographical location.

Our Brave Bodies School Holiday Bike Group is rolling into town! Led by our fun and supportive physiotherapy team, this group is the perfect way to help your little one build confidence and master their riding skills.

This group is perfect for kids who want to:

🌟 Learn vital road and footpath safety for their adventures.
