A safe and calming space to breathe, move, and restore.
I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year!
Since we werenât able to have a group meet-up in December, I wanted to see what everyone thinks about catching up this month. Iâm thinking of something low-key and casual during the last week of January.
Iâd love to hear your thoughtsâfeel free to suggest any locations or activities youâd enjoy, and let me know which day works best for you.
Looking forward to hearing from you all and hopefully seeing some of you soon!
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to myself and the other admins đđ«¶đ»

"Thanksgiving Dinner for Embrace"
Good news everyone: our meetup for November is officially locked in. đ±
We're having dinner to celebrate Thanksgiving and all that we have to be grateful and thankful for.
Everyone's mental health journey is different. It's hard to accept and understand that, but it's ok. What matters is showing up for yourself and for the other people in this support group, even if you (or we) donât have all the answers. Mental health isn't a destination; it's a journey that weâre all on together.
At Embrace, we try to create a safe space for sharing our different experiences and connecting with like-minded people who can empathize and understand what we are dealing with and going through. Even if we (as a group of people) canât fully grasp what youâre dealing with and or how you're dealing with it, we are here to offer support and kindness. đ€
Comments/questions: please let one of our admins or co-ordinators know and we'll get back to you asap.
P.S. still have some badges left to give away as well, thanks to Sarah for them! Letâs lift each other up and embrace the strength that exists within us all.

"Embracing Narrandera for Mental Health Month"
Itâs that time of the year again! Our humble little support group is coming together to "Embrace Narrandera" as part of Mental Health Month. đ±
This journey is all about meeting new people and exploring new places, wherever that may take us.
We appreciate that everyone's mental health journey is different, and thatâs okay. What matters is showing up, even if you donât have all the answers. Mental health isn't a destination; it's a journey that weâre all on together.
At Embrace, we create a safe space for sharing experiences and connecting with like-minded people who understand. Even if we canât fully grasp what youâre dealing with, we are here to offer support and kindness. đ€
Please join us on *Saturday, October 26* for our next meetup:
đ 10am: The Yard, 78-80 East Street, Narrandera.
đ 11am: Tiger Moth Memorial, 23 Cadell Street, Narrandera.
Weâll also have some awesome badges to give away, thanks to Sarah!
Letâs lift each other up and embrace the strength within us all.

Got some good news for everyone. Belinda Gardner has offered to step up and help with the co-ordinating for Embrace.
Belinda is more than just a pet sitter and dog walker, she's a very kind, patient and understanding person. You have to be to offer to do something like this.
Co-ordinating a mental health support group can be really tough. It's not all cuddles, hugs, rainbows and unicorns. We've had some people who have made others (including me) feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Part of organizing a group like this is having difficult discussions with people regarding sensitive issues. This is one of the reasons why we have the moderated closed group, rules and regulations.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you Belinda for stepping up to the extra responsibility and helping out with this. Will help me immensely and I cannot thank her enough. You're the best.
If anyone else is keen to get more involved with Embrace and Mental Health support in Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas please get in contact with us and let us know.

Did you know that there is a peer run and led mental health support group in Wagga Wagga called Embrace? Started by Samantha Brunskill (@Willow Jayne) in 2015, Embrace has discreet events where you can meetup with other people of all ages and genders living with mental illnesses in a safe public space.
Embrace is a free support group where we take responsibility for ourselves and be there for each other. We meet as a group every month to discuss mental health and life in general. Embrace is for anyone living with any form of mental illness or addiction. Some members of embrace have bi-polar disorder but it is not just a group for people with that diagnosis. Any mental health condition, be it a personality disorder, ADHD, anxiety, Aspergerâs Syndrome, autism, depression and or addiction (alcohol, drugs and gambling).
