🆘 Important Update: Changes to NDIS Pricing Will Affect Regional Families and Outreach Services 🆘
We want to inform our valued families and community members about significant upcoming changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that will directly affect how physiotherapy services are delivered — particularly to children and families living in regional and rural areas.
🗓 From July 1, 2025, proposed NDIS price limit cuts to physiotherapy services could have devastating impacts for people with disability in our region. The NDIA plans to reduce national price limits by $10, down to $183.99/hour – a rate that fails to reflect the true cost of delivering quality, accessible care in regional areas like Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Leeton, Tumut and beyond. Alongside this, travel claims have been significantly restricted, making it much more difficult for providers like us to deliver outreach services to families outside major centres
🚗 What this means for our families:
- Reduced ability for our physiotherapists to travel to homes, schools, and community settings.
- Potential decrease in availability of NDIS physiotherapy services in smaller or more remote towns.
- Increased pressure on families to travel long distances for appointments — something we know can be particularly difficult for children with complex needs.
At Bubs and Beyond Physiotherapy, we are deeply committed to ensuring children across the Riverina receive the therapy they need, close to home, where they feel safe and supported. These changes jeopardise that mission.
📣 How you can help:
✅ Tell your story – Have you or someone you know benefited from local NDIS-funded physio? Share your experience with the APA to help humanise the impact using the hashtag 💙myphysio
✅ Email your Federal MP – Use APA's online tool to contact your local representative (Michael McCormack or Sussan Ley) and explain why regional voices matter. ✅ Talk to local media – Call your local station or submit a letter to the editor at The Daily Advertiser
👥 Let’s unite as a community to protect access to physio and ensure that people with disabilities in the Riverina can continue to thrive.
Together, we can advocate for fair, sustainable funding that reflects the real costs of delivering essential care to children with disabilities — no matter where they live.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need support navigating these changes. We’re here for you.
Warm regards,
Alyshia
