Today is World Autism Awareness Day, 2nd April 2026 💙

A day to move beyond awareness… and into understanding, acceptance, and genuine inclusion.

Autism is a different way of experiencing, processing, and engaging with the world, not something to be "fixed." Every autistic individual possesses unique strengths, perspectives, and communication styles that warrant respect and value.

As a therapist, I often see the impact that being misunderstood can have — and equally, the profound transformation that happens when someone feels truly seen, heard, and accepted for who they are.

Today is a reminder to:
✨ Listen without assumptions
✨ Create spaces that feel safe and supportive
✨ Celebrate neurodiversity rather than trying to change it
✨ Lead with compassion, curiosity, and respect

If you or someone you love is navigating life on the spectrum, you’re not alone. Support, connection, and understanding matter.

💬 My therapy space is a neuro-affirming environment where individuality is honoured, and emotional safety comes first.

If you’d like to learn more or explore support, feel free to reach out.

✨The Silent Relationship Killer✨

Most people receive dozens—sometimes hundreds—of phone notifications every day.🔔📫

Everyday digital behaviours – like frequent phone📲 use, social media scrolling, and chasing “likes” online – can seem harmless, but they gradually erode intimacy, attachment, and trust in relationships💑.

Unlike more obvious challenges that couples face, these digital behaviours often blend into daily routines, making their effects harder to detect until disconnection has already set in.

Research shows that even the mere presence of a smartphone can reduce the quality of in-person conversations.

In fact, studies find that 70% of couples report technology interfering with their time together, contributing to more conflict and lower relationship satisfaction.

When spending time with your intimate partner, family, and friends, put your smartphone away and be mindfully present in the moment. Your relationship could depend on it.

Today is International Day of Happiness — a reminder that happiness isn’t something we chase; it’s something we gently create over time.

In real life, happiness isn’t about feeling good all the time. It’s about having a safe space to explore your emotions, feel supported, and reconnect with yourself — especially during the harder seasons.

This is exactly why I hold my weekly Expressive Healing Therapy Group. It’s a space for women to slow down, be heard, and build deeper connection — with themselves and others — through guided therapeutic and creative processes.

If you’ve been feeling the need to pause, reflect, or simply not carry everything on your own, this could be a beautiful place to start.

✨ Tuesdays | 10:00am – 12:30pm
✨ Waikiki
✨ Small, supportive group setting

You’re welcome to reach out if you’d like to know more or see if it feels like the right fit for you.

Happiness often begins with giving yourself permission to show up just as you are.

🌟 Neurodiversity Celebration Week: Celebrating Different Minds, Strengths, and Ways of Being 🌟

This week, we celebrate the beautiful diversity of minds that make our world richer. Neurodiversity reminds us that there isn't one “normal” way to Think, Learn, or Create. Each brain brings unique strengths—focus, creativity, pattern recognition, empathy, problem-solving, and more—that help our communities thrive.

Let’s lift up and honour:

People who think in pictures or patterns

Those who process information differently

Individuals with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette syndrome, and other neurodivergent profiles

Families, friends, and allies who learn from and with us

What you can do:

* Listen with curiosity and respect

* Create inclusive spaces in schools, workplaces, and communities

* Highlight strengths and offer practical accommodations (noticeable or subtle)

* Challenge stereotypes and celebrate every achievement, big or small

* Share resources and success stories to inspire others

Quote to reflect on:
“Difference is not a deficit; it’s a different way of being that can lead to extraordinary ideas and solutions.”

Join us in making our circles safer, kinder, and more empowering for every brain. Happy Neurodiversity Celebration Week! 💜

Happy Bodhi Day.

This day commemorates the Buddha’s enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, when he attained awakening and profound insight into the nature of suffering and liberation. Observed for centuries in Buddhist traditions, Bodhi Day reminds us to cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and wise intention.

Bodhi Day marks the moment Siddhartha Gautama achieved enlightenment, becoming the Buddha, after meditation and overcoming temptations.

The enlightenment is traditionally dated to the full moon of Bodhi Vassa (the seventh month in the lunar calendar), and it has been celebrated in various Buddhist traditions for over two millennia.

Different schools celebrate with rituals such as meditation, prayers, dharma talks, candle lighting, and acts of generosity.

A simple practice today: sit quietly for 5–10 minutes, observe the breath, and reflect on gratitude and kindness. You might also consider lighting a candle, reading a short reflection, or offering help to someone in need. I hope that everyone finds clarity, peace, and gentle insight.
