*Skipping the take away coffee
*Take away night can be changed to easy tea night with whole family involved.
*Turn everything off at power that's not in use.
*Revisit streaming services needs! Maybe alternate monthly between, if you have multiple accounts!
*Walk to the shops if they're close enough and or carpool with a neighbour or friend close by for the bulky items.
*Use places that offer laybuy for clothing purchases etc. ( I loved doing this when I had my first child in 1987)
*Birthday parties at a park with undercover *BBQ areas rather than paying for venues etc
*Plan an op shopping day once a week, you'll be amazed at what you may find.
Sell anything you're not using etc on market place.
“How on earth can I cut costs from my budget? I’ve done everything I can and there is no more room to move?”
If you’re asking this question or if you are a higher income earner who’s fallen into the “its only $20” mindset then this type of tip might be for you.
Here are a few things you can do yourself instead of outsourcing if you need to find room in the budget.
Hemming and repairing clothes
Replacing key batteries yourself
Mowing lawns
Repairing household items (where safe)
Growing and cutting your own flowers
Growing your own herbs
Pet grooming (where safe)
Putting on your own phone screen protectors.
Cleaning your home
This is a very frugal mind set so a lot of you probably do these things and then others might choose not to so they support the economy. But if you simply haven’t considered these as “luxuries” then this may help.
