1000 Petal Lotus Yoga founded by Eva Andrea is an intuitive Hatha and Vinyasa based yoga practice with the incorporation of sound, mantra and meditation. Eva is dedicated to her craft and is inspired to share the wealth of her wisdom and yoga knowledge to further assist with the rapid rise of consciousness upon the planet. Eva has been an active part of the yoga teacher community in Melbourne for

over 10 years and has offered a variety of classes and styles including retreats, workshops and sound healings. Eva’s teaching journey was born on her way to summit Mt Kilimanjaro (5895m) in February 2012. Faced with server life or death challenges caused by the affects of high altitude she breaks on through the mental chatter to find will over the body to continue on. Dedication and adventure have seen Eva in different parts of the world and now currently finds herself travelling solo around Australia in her van. WHAT IS 1000 PETAL LOTUS?

1000 Petal Lotus refers to a laser beam like energy that shoots out from the crown of the head connecting and drawing back the cosmic energy from above. So rather it’s an energetic exchange of complete knowing and understanding of harmony and union that exists. The discipline of yoga is to reach this state of unitary conscious which is achieved through a series of practices whether they be in though physical movement, breath awareness or rooted in meditation. Introducing TWO new classes to our timetable...
Commencing first week of February

Morning Yoga 6:30-7:30am- Breathe and flow
Evening Yin Yoga 6:30-7:45pm

This is my home studio in Wantirna with a maximum of 6 students at a time to ensure attention and care.

In these classes there will be a varying combination of pranayama practices (breathing techniques), asanas (movement), meditation along with other yogic teachings and practices that will be introduced and weaved into the classes.

I have been teaching yoga and meditation for 13 years and I also facilitate group and private sound therapy sessions (3rd Friday of the month in Wantirna).

I am currently taking on new students and excited to welcome in some new faces along with familiar faces of course.

Our Story

The 1000 Petaled Lotus refers to the crown or sahasrara chakra. A chakra is an energy centre in the body situated along the spinal column or shushumna. There are seven main chakras starting from the base of the spine to the crown of the head and each have an associated colour, symbol, mantra and refer to a part of the body. In holistic medicine chakras are taken into consideration as to whether they are open and free flowing or blocked. Some blockages may cause physical symptoms in the body. For example, one may experience thyroid or respiratory issues if the throat or vishuddha chakra is blocked. This may be caused by holding on to something or perhaps needing to 'say something'. Often when we goes agains the flow of nature and don't listen to our own instinct our body suffers thus creating dis-ease. When we are in tune with our bodies and connect with our higher self, we live authentically and in the present moment. Eventually this allows the energy to rise freely through the chakras from the base of the spine towards the crown of the head connecting us with our divine source. Through yoga we learn to listen to the body and connect mind, body and spirt through movement and meditation in order live a happier, healthier life, free from stress, anxiety and worry. In an age where we are overburdened with technology and seemingly endless 'to do lists' we often rob ourselves of simply being and thus we lose balance in our lives. Yoga is ancient teaching which originated in India and has enormous benefits in helping us to find a balanced life. It allows us to look inwards at ourselves and to perhaps not be so critical of ourselves and others. It teaches us the art of forgiveness, compassion, truth, love and kindness. Yoga is not just for the flexible few, this is often a misconception created by our culture. Yes with time yoga may increase the flexibility of your body but it is not the aim. Yoga is an internal practice and the rest that comes is a bonus. Eventually the body will become stronger and gain more range of motion and the mind too will grown stronger and less burdens with constant thoughts and ideas. The 1000 Petaled Lotus is a Hatha yoga practice with Eva Andrea who has practiced yoga for over five years. She discovered her passion for teaching upon return from a life changing trip to Africa and decided to share her new found passion with others. The transformation yoga can bring is beyond what words can describe. It is something that needs to be experienced. It will not however miraculously happen for yoga is a practice and one must be focused and willing to just be in the moment without any expectations or goals. It is truly a beautiful practice of self discovery and inner peace. Namaste
