3 books I’d read to prepare for birth.

1. Anything by Birth with Confidence or Beyond the Birth Plan. She is such an authority when it comes to knowledge of birth, working with pain in labour and advocating for a physiological birth in the present climate.
2. Reclaiming childbirth as a right of passage by Dr .rachel.reed this book weaves history, science, research and the experiences of women and care providers to provide a holistic look at understanding birth.
3. And of course the complete Australian Guide to Pregnancy and Birth by and Jodi Wilson. A step by step companion to walk you through every stage of pregnancy and birth.

Want more birth and postpartum prep? .lady.physio and I running a Birth and Beyond workshop on Saturday 21st of June 9-12 here in Warrnambool, downstairs at the Pavillion. 4 speakers covering everything from pelvic floor prep, working with pain in labour, navigating the maternity system and when plans change in birth through to breastfeeding preparation.
Tickets are $35 or $$45 for 2. We strongly encourage you to bring your partner or support person. So much quality education at what we hope is an accessible price point for locals. We would love to see you there.
