What would happen
if you removed the thought ‘anxious’
and just paid attention
to these flickering sensations in the belly?

What would happen
if you took away the word ‘lonely’
and simply became fascinated
with this heavy feeling in the heart area?

What would happen
if you deleted the concept ‘sick’
or ‘broken’ or ‘wrong’
and just got curious about
the tightness in the throat
the pressure in the head
the ache in the shoulders?

What would happen
if you stopped looking for solutions
and checked to see
if there was actually a problem here?

Come out of the exhausting storyline, friend.
Come closer to yourself.
Commit sacred awareness to a single living moment.
Bring warmth to the tender place inside.

Infuse sensation
with the light of attention.
Maybe

“I just don’t know how to make friends”.

It’s a phrase I - Heidi - hear often, especially from older youth or young adults who often only need a point in the right direction with a strategy or two to figure this out.

Hi all! It’s me - Heidi - on the account today. I wanted to acknowledge international women’s day and all the amazing women in my life who grow and progress side by side with me.

My daughters, my daughter in law, my sisters, my mother, and my mother in law. My dear friends and colleagues.

When women suppprt women we see powerful changes internally, in relationships, in families, and in organisations locally and across the globe.

One of my favourite quotes that centres me and my female energy on goodness and growth is from Margaret Nadaul. I hope you enjoy it too and happy international woman’s day to all women and all those whose lives are touched by good women.

“…The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. Hi everyone it’s me - Heidi - here on the account today.

I want to talk about all the things we do to make ourselves and our life more healthy and fulfilling - in little ways.

While it’s tempting, especially when we feel poorly, to stop moving and doing. It’s actually really important to take those small steps forward in daily tasks and projects.

We actually need to *do* something different to *feel* different.

Physical heath and creative pursuits such as gardening (no matter how small) have a direct relation to mental health and well-being in general.

This morning I’ve been out in our garden - which we are slowly creating into an urban homestead. Using a permaculture practice, I’ve added banana skins around the strawberries which release needed potassium into the soil. After taking out the few weeds I’ve also planted out the garlic amongst the strawberries to add further benefit.

Being amongst nature and using problem solving skills both refreshes and sharpens the human faculties.

So today, if you got one small thing you can do that will support your mental health and well-being - do it. Take it as slow as you need to but do it.

Small things add up and in the end, it’s really a culmination of small things that determine the direction we’re moving.

Hi! It’s me - Heidi - here on the account today. I wanted to share a quick tip for when things are feeling a bit overwhelming.

it’s actually pretty normal to feel overwhelmed sometimes.

However, when we choose one thing we ‘can’ do - even one small thing - and act on that, we start to change our pattern of thinking, feeling, and behaving.
