Yesterday at work, I was standing in line to get a coffee and greeted a gentleman with a simple hello. To my surprise, we quickly discovered a connection. As he approached to order, I jokingly shared my order, but then recanted. However, the gentleman insisted, saying that since I had given him something, he wanted to return the favor. This encounter reinforced the idea that a person's value to others is not solely determined by their salary, but by the connections and conversations they have with others.
