Natural Medicine Centre We run courses and consultations. Follow us and join our natural health community I was ill about 30 years ago. Very ill. and I got sicker. The tools I use are:

1.

I saw doctors, hospital consultants and specialists, and I took the drugs they told me to take . . . I felt I was losing my career, my friends, and ultimately my life. I was forced to look outside the system for help, because the system was killing me. I explored a number of options, but they all had one thing in common: "Find out what the underlying cause is, and treat that"

How obvious! This

was a real light bulb moment for me. Why would you want to address disease in any other way . . . and so began my long journey into good health for myself, and into gaining the qualifications, knowledge and experience I need to help others. In depth assessment. I want to know everything. Present symptoms, past medical history, lifestyle, diet social history etc.

2. A guided, step by step, straightforward, personally tailored program addressing diet, lifestyle and emotional health.

3. Nutritional supplements or herbal medicine as required.

4. Intuition and empathy. Personal message me for more information, or to tell me about your needs

Rosemary: A fabulous herb! So much you can do with it, so many medicinal properties.

Here you see:
- Rosemary infused coconut oil. I'm going to make an ointment with this for stimulating healthy hair.
- Rosemary, ginkgo and basil vinegar. All fabulous, stimulating brain herbs. A nice little brew for me to take every day.
- Rosemary infusing in olive oil. I'll add other warming herbs for a stimulating, healing salve.

CONNECTION MATTERS

One of the most important contributors to health and happiness is social and family connections.

Studies prove this time and again. It's worth really working at your own connections: Join local groups, prioritise spending time with your friends and family.

Check out this TED talk: "What makes a good life" Lessons from the longest study on happiness.

MANY SHADES OF GREY

With age comes wisdom and experience – we know that.

We’ve have seen more of life; we’ve had to cope with more.

The most important thing for SuperAgers is HOW we cope.
When you’re going through a tough time and you wake up to grey skies, after a sleepless night

Do you sink into depression? Give up?

OR

Do what SuperAgers do: Get up and get out there wanting to win another day?

A brisk, 40 minute walk EVERY MORNING, can make all the difference. Grey skies and rain are no excuse (ok, torrential rain might let you off).

However much you DON’T WANT TO DO IT – Do It.

Plan for it the night before. Put suitable clothes out.

Get out before your brain has a chance to talk you out of it.

I promise, it will make ALL the difference.

Your grey mood will lift. Not only for now, but quite possibly for the rest of the day. And you might find that grey sky not as bad is you thought it would be.

Today’s message: Whatever is going on in your life. Get out there! Get moving! It will help. A lot. Don’t let the grey get you down.

WHY I TAKE GINKGO EVERY DAY

I am a survivor. I plan to survive whatever life throws at me. Not only survive - but THRIVE

But, I can’t do it alone. I need human, plant and mineral allies.

And, that’s where Ginkgo comes in. There are few plants which have survived and thrived better than Ginkgo trees.

Gingos are one of the most ancient trees on earth. Not only can a Ginkgo tree live beyond 1000 years, but the species dates back 270 million years.

The trees are incredible survivors. Not only in my garden, which enjoys climate conditions totally unhospitable to Ginkgos during our very hot, very dry summers, but in 1945 six of the trees are said to have survived in Hiroshima, near the bomb site. They still live today.

During the millions of years of evolution, Ginkgo trees have picked up a thing or two.

And, that’s what we can take advantage of when we supplement with Ginkgo.

It’s the more than 40 chemical components (such as flavonoids, terpenoids, and ginkgolides) which the tree has developed to protect itself from disease and environment that we can use to protect our nerves, heart muscle, blood vessels and eyes. To protect our circulation, and to help us thrive as we age.

There is excellent, published scientific evidence of the benefits that Ginkgo bestows in protecting our brain, our cognitive health, from Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Tinnitus is another very common condition where there is high calibre published evidence of the protective and curative effects of Ginkgo.

There is other evidence of benefits in neurological diseases, circulatory diseases, mental health and migraines.

I would be very sorry indeed if I couldn’t take Ginkgo regularly.

HOW TO TAKE GINKGO
I like to take it in tincture form. Please contact me if you would like help obtaining this. Otherwise, there are some good quality supplements available.

DO YOU EAT THIS HEALTH PROMOTING FOOD?

A food which is proven to hugely decreases your risk of chronic disease – like diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

If you’re not eating this food every day – then think again!

Time and again published studies demonstrate the value of eating eggs. For example, a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, which followed men aged between 42-60 years for 20 years discovered that there was a direct correlation between eating eggs and a large, significantly reduced risk of Diabetes. Those who ate just 4 eggs per week, had a 37% lower risk of type 2 Diabetes.

Having diabetes increases your risk of developing Alzheimer’s by 50% - therefore, it’s safe to assume that eating eggs will reduce that risk.

Eggs are almost a perfect food.

Eggs are high in protein, minerals and vitamins. They are also great sources of antioxidants and HEALTHY cholesterol and fats.

Eggs also maintain balanced blood sugar levels (poorly balanced blood sugar is a major driver of chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and, of course, diabetes.

Published studies have also shown that eating eggs for breakfast is a great way to lose weight, or control your weight.

but be mindful of quality. Try to find eggs from free-range, pastured chickens. Farmer’s markets are great places for good eggs.
