One of the most interesting projects I did as a graduate student was review movies though a psychological lens. I enjoyed it so much I taught the same class when I was a professor.

It was something I missed, so I decided to start reviewing movies again, using clinical psychology as a place to start.

The Plague February 09, 2026 3.5 Stars out of 4   The recent TV series Adolescence, created quite a stir around the world. It even produced the youngest Emmy winner ever in Owen Cooper. It's a tough watch and extremely thought-provoking. The essential question asking, "What the hell is happening wi...

One challenge for people with ADHD is prioritizing tasks as well as avoiding tasks that appear tedious or boring. Here is an excellent summary from the book, "Eat that Frog" that has a lot of useful strategies in how to combat this.

I found this to be an interesting piece of work. In the end, a good question is, "Where does someone's harsh inner critic actually come from? Where dies it originate? Surely we aren't born to be so hard on ourselves.

This is well done. It might not explain ALL harsh inner critics, but it's certainly a start.

Have you ever just felt you've hit the wall in your work? That something you used to enjoy has just lost its luster a bit? Most people have, including me. Did you know there are actually EIGHT kinds of burnout? Have you experienced any of these? If so, take a look at one of my latest videos on dealing with burnout and feeling overwhelmed at work.

The 8 Kinds of Burnout:

1. Mental burnout: My mind cannot process any more; it’s fried.
2. Emotional burnout: These heavy or anxious emotions are exhausting me.
3. Compassion burnout: I cannot hold any more loving space for anyone else; I’m tapped.
4. Relational burnout: I’ve been overgiving to others, my organization or my community/family, and I am over it.
5. Survival burnout: I’m exhausted from trying to make ends meet and stay afloat.
6. Superwoman burnout: The weight of taking on so much is too much; I can’t hold it all anymore.
7. Passion burnout: I love what I do, but I’ve given too much and pushed too hard.
8. Physical burnout: My body is revolting; I have depleted my life force.

Sad to hear of the passing of Robert Redford. His last words I will remember are these beautiful last words from the movie, "A River Runs Through It."
Some of the words were yours Robert. And you made some great movies.

Every time I visit Sydney I come here, as this place has very special importantce to me. The Gap at Watson’s Bay in Sydney is three things. 1, one of the most beautiful spots in the world. 2, one of the most popular su***de spots in the world. 3, The place where this man saved over 160 people from su***de simply by being kind.

So why do I come here? Because I need reminding sometimes. I make a million mistakes in my life, but the ones I regret the most are those times where I have failed to be kind.

This place always helps me remember.
