I was quoted $600 to close up this drywall opening, and it caught me off guard a bit.

It seems like a relatively small repair, but I don’t have much experience with drywall work. I’m trying to understand if that price makes sense when you factor in backing, taping, mudding, sanding, and repainting.

For those with experience—does $600 sound reasonable for a job like this?

Just trying to make an informed decision.

Ran out of junction boxes and had to get creative 📦

Used some thick cardboard to hold the outlet in place—because hey, it’s an insulator… right? 😅

Is this asbestos?

My house was built in the 90s, and we just bought it in February. While replacing an old light fixture, I noticed this material and wasn’t sure what it is.

Does this look like something to be concerned about?

I’m not a concrete guy, but I’m trying to take on a small project myself.

It’s a 4x12 slab, and from what I’ve seen, it’ll take about twenty 80lb bags. I’m considering mixing everything by hand in a wheelbarrow to save some money.

Just not sure if that’s realistic or if I’m underestimating the workload.

Would appreciate any advice—especially on finishing too.

Ran into an issue during our bathroom renovation—found mold inside the wall 😬

The tricky part is the opposite side has a large built-in cabinet we installed last year, and we really don’t want to take it apart.

Trying to figure out the best way to handle this without turning it into a much bigger project.

Earlier today at Walmart, I noticed a guy asleep in his car, taking up a regular parking spot.

I mentioned it to a couple of associates because people were clearly circling, trying to find parking while he just sat there passed out.

I get that things happen, but parking lots are meant for customers coming and going—not for someone to camp out for hours while others can’t find a spot.

It feels like something that shouldn’t be considered normal, and I can see why management ends up having to step in.

To the neighbor who decided to bring my dog’s mess to my doorstep—

That was unnecessary and inappropriate. It was also caught on camera, so there’s no confusion about what happened.

If there’s an issue, address it directly. Coming onto my property and leaving something behind like that isn’t the way to handle it.

Let’s keep things respectful going forward—because that behavior isn’t acceptable.

I wanted to follow up regarding the $50 offer for my propane tank.

Based on current market comparisons, even tanks that need some work are typically valued in the $300–$700+ range, depending on condition. Given that, the $50 offer seems significantly below what similar items are worth.

I’m trying to understand whether that number was based on an actual assessment of the tank or simply a low initial offer.

I’m starting to get concerned about how this job is being handled.

We’re paying $4,900 to have these walls finished, but the contractor says he can’t bring proper equipment inside because of the new floors. Instead, I walked in and saw him balancing on a plank to get the work done.

My wife is worried about safety, and I’m also questioning whether this is the most efficient or professional way to handle the job.

At this point, I’m wondering—does this seem like a valid approach, or should I be pushing back on how the work is being done?

At first I was trying to figure out why this drywall patch cracked so badly and started separating… then it made sense.

I’m cleaning up after a contractor who did a remodel across multiple properties, and this used to be a doorway. Instead of framing it properly with 2x4s, it looks like they skipped that step and just patched over it.

On the bright side, I can fix it from this side by adding proper support, tying it in, and then finishing with screws, tape, and texture—so at least I don’t have to open up the other side.

Even tried pulling it out with the Jeep—didn’t move an inch.

I went back and forth on whether to say anything about this.

Someone across the street spent the afternoon doing yard work shirtless. I understand it’s hot out, but in a neighborhood setting with families and kids around, it just felt a bit off.

I tried to ignore it, but after a while it became hard not to notice.

I’ve made a formal note of it, just to have it documented. Hopefully it doesn’t become an ongoing issue.
