Dear Patients

Our vision for GPHC @ UOW is equitable health care, where access to affordable, quality and culturally appropriate health services does not depend on where you live, or your background.

The Australian Government has increased Medicare rebates by 4% from the 1st of July. This means that our fees will change slightly although your out-of-pocket costs will remain the same.

Please see below for the changes to our billing policy which will take effect from the 01st of July 2023.

Bulk Billing will be in place for the following patients:
• Children under 16 years of age
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients
• All current UOW students

Bulk Billing remains the same for the following services if you have a valid Medicare card:
• Care plans for chronic disease management (for eligible patients)
• Health assessments (for eligible patients)
• Immunisations as per the National Immunisation Schedule

headspace Wollongong are hosting a FREE YOGA PRIDE PARTY at the Warilla Neighbourhood Centre Inc. on Friday February 17th.
One of our amazing staff members, Vanessa, will be running yoga classes - you might have had the privilege of seeing her out in community last year running yoga sessions as part of our community engagements.
There will be catering provided on the night including rainbow cupcakes and rainbow popcorn!
This is an amazing opportunity for young people to celebrate pride and participate in guided yoga in a safe and inclusive space. Please pass this information on to any young people aged between 12-25 years old who you think may be interested.

headspace Wollongong are celebrating Mardi Gras and the start of Sydney WorldPride 2023! Join us for an evening of yoga and socialising in a safe and inclusive space. Come dressed in your rainbow best to celebrate all things rainbow and pride. Catering will be provided on the night.

As per NSW Health guidance, masks are required to be worn in our practice at all times to protect the safety of our patients and staff.

COVID-19 cases remain high across NSW, driven by the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants. We are also seeing increasing flu cases.

Masks remain mandatory for all people over the age of 12 years in public hospitals, private health and residential aged care facilities.

We strongly recommend wearing masks in general practices and medical centres, disability care facilities, indoors and when you can’t physically distance.

Do not visit vulnerable people in high risk settings such as hospitals and aged care if you feel unwell. Get tested and stay home.
