Now that the holidays are over, most of us are back to work and starting to get back into routine.

It is very common for people to start the year with new goals, and a ‘new year new me’ mindset (which is totally fine), but we hope that this mindset is a healthy one that makes you feel good in every way

Above we have some examples of what might be considered an unhealthy vs healthy mindset

It’s inevitable that you’ll be attending festive events over the next few weeks.

We want to show you that it is possible to stay healthy, enjoy these special times and have no guilt around eating!

A food craving is an intense desire to eat a particular type of food.

Food cravings are very common, but what I often hear is that an individual may feel ‘bad’ for choosing the food they are craving, so they eat a bunch of different foods that are “kind of similar”, but don’t hit the spot. Then they are left feeling unsatisfied and probably in a worse place from a calorie perspective.

What I am saying here is if you feel like chocolate, its probably best that you just eat the chocolate. And if you do this mindfully, you will probably really enjoy it and not over do it.

It is important to mention that we are referring to occasional cravings (which are normal). If you are having these cravings daily, then it could be a sign that something is out of balance and it's probably worth speaking to a Dietitian

October Client of the month is Bec!

I meet Bec 5years ago at mothers group and we quickly became good friends. This turned into Bec coming to me to train her and since then she has had another baby. In the 2months we have been working together post partum, Bec has lost 6kg and is looking even more amazing then she already did. Bec always shows up and tries her best!

My week day dinners often look a lot like this. Not the prettiest, but a simple “throw together” style of meal that takes minimal time and preparation.

This meal contained:
▪️Aldi boneless butterflied chicken cooked in the air fryer (only about $8 for the whole chicken and sooo yum)
▪️Microwave brown rice
▪️Mixed frozen veg (can sub for fresh obviously)
▪️Sauces that I chose: low sugar bbq sauce, sweet chilli and kewpie

What’s your easy go-to dinner?

Do you find yourself comparing what you eat to others? Or allowing/denying yourself foods because of someone else’s food choices? This can be very problematic because it takes away from your ability to trust your own huger/fullness cues and listen to your body’s needs. Having this mindset also creates less room to practice food freedom.

Please remember that it’s important to focus on your own individual needs and what/when/how much you eat is completely up to you!
