WHAT'S AN AROMATHERAPY 'NOTE'?
Yesterday we spilled a bottle of AQ RELAX Blend in the office, and we're still thoroughly enjoying it today! Some oils dissipate very quickly - oils like lemon or eucalyptus are known as 'top notes', which may disappear after only a few hours; others such as Jasmine or Ylang Ylang (which is in our RELAX Blend) are 'base notes' which can hang around for several days before naturally fading away. By creating a blend that features a variation of top, middle and base notes, your blend will have a more complex scent, plus the base notes will 'grab hold' of the top notes and the whole blend will last longer. It's a great way to make perfume blends (or therapeutic blends) that feature top notes, last in a way that they wouldn't on their own. Take a look at the attached pic for some of the most common notes, and try putting it into practice next time you put together a blend in your diffuser, or a roll-on or aroma pendant.
