Name it to tame it.
Feel it to heal it.

You may have heard these expressions before... but what do they mean?

Name it to Tame it speaks to the power of identifying and articulating our emotions as a means of managing and regulating them effectively. When we give voice to what we feel, it brings clarity and understanding to our internal landscape.
By acknowledging and verbalizing our emotions, we engage the thinking part of our brain, which helps to soothe the emotional centres. This process empowers us to navigate our emotional terrain with greater ease and resilience.

For instance, rather than being overwhelmed by a vague sense of unease, naming the specific emotions involved (like fear, sadness, or frustration) can offer a sense of empowerment and control over our emotional experiences.

Feel it to Heal it underscores the importance of fully embracing and processing our emotions in order to heal from past wounds or traumas. It encourages us to lean into our emotional experiences with compassion and openness.
Instead of suppressing or avoiding difficult emotions, "Feeling it to heal it" invites us to honor and express them authentically. By doing so, we create space for healing and transformation to take place.
For example, rather than numbing ourselves to avoid pain or discomfort, "Feeling it to heal it" invites us to lean into those emotions, trusting that they hold the key to our growth and resilience.

The acknowledgement and the feeling is the way thru.
