Last week, while walking my therapy dog, I had an unexpected interaction with a woman in my local community who believed I was filming her.
Rather than escalating, we paused and spoke calmly. What emerged was not conflict, but shared fear, exhaustion, and the impact of living in a time of heightened tension.
By slowing down and responding with openness, the moment shifted. We were able to see one another simply as two people navigating a difficult day in a difficult climate.
These are the moments that remind me why compassion, attunement, and human connection still matter.
I continue to believe that light will always win.
