Livingstone Living Well

Livingstone Living Well Supporting mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention: through training, education and resources.

Livingstone Living Well has a strategic mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention focus. Our members include individuals and organisations that work, volunteer or are interested in supporting community development within the Livingstone Shire Local Government Area. As a network, LLW does NOT provide mental health or suicide intervention services, crisis support or personal support. Our activities are related to evidence-based best-practice training and resource sharing, along with building community connections to strengthen the capacity of the community to respond to people in distress. If you are interested in being part of strategic group like LLW, please ensure your own personal safety. Consider if the time is right for you to work constructively among people that may have different opinions and experiences of mental ill health, alcohol and other drugs, and suicide, or who may be from diverse personal and professional backgrounds. We encourage people to refer to the Roses in the Ocean's 'Are you Ready' resource prior to being actively involved if they have lived experience of suicide. Our membership process includes mentoring and encouraging training. Please phone Lifeline on 13 11 14 if you or someone you know is in crisis; or ring 000 in an emergency.

Resources to host events in communities and education sectors and to support parents, partners or employers or the wider community to understand neurodiversity are available at the below link.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week aims to bring about worldwide neurodiversity acceptance, equality and inclusion in schools and workplaces.

1 March is Zero Discrimination Day: where countries celebrate everyone's right to live a full, productive and dignified life. The 2026 focus of "People First" shines a light on persistent discrimination faced by people living with or at risk of HIV that undermines health service access, and violates rights and reduces progress towards ending AIDS by 2030. Some facts and consequences are outlined at the below link:

On Zero Discrimination Day, 1 March, we celebrate the right of everyone to live a full and productive life with dignity. This year, UNAIDS shines a light on the persistent discrimination faced by people living with and at risk of HIV, discrimination that undermines access to health services, violate...

The13th February 2026 marked 18 years since the formal apology to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples whose lives were impacted by past government policies, especially those related to forced child removal and assimilation. We acknowledge the ongoing trauma that has tentacles that continue to negatively impact communities. For those facing challenging times 13 Yarn provides a confidential service for First Nation peoples; and other supports in Rockhampton can be facilitated through Bidgerdii Community Health Service and CQID
