Yesterday was such a fantastic day cooking for one of my favourite families. From planning the dishes, to shopping, to cooking — everything runs so smoothly, and for that I’m deeply grateful.

Not to mention their stunning kitchen! I get to cook with a high-tech oven (complete with an air-fryer setting) — perfect for my client who follows her blood group diet and prefers lower-fat meals. No pan-frying needed; everything comes out perfectly roasted without oils.

This menu featured a few new dishes:

🍗 Tarragon Chicken Thighs (bone-in) with Cannellini Beans + Sweet Potato x 11

🐟 Lemon + Garlic Fish with Quinoa Pasta + Greens x 10

I’ll be the first to admit — baking has never been my strongest suit. I’ve never claimed to be a pastry chef (that’s my sister’s gift 👩‍🍳), and back in culinary school anything pastry or dessert used to really test me.

But over the years, practice has softened those edges. And yesterday, something clicked — I found myself in that beautiful flow state where everything just comes together. By the end of the day, I was smiling at what I’d made accomplished.

On the table yesterday:

🎃 Roast Pumpkin + Goats Cheese Quiche
🍞 Red Lentil Bread
🥒 Zucchini Frittata
🥬 Spinach + Feta Filo Parcels
🍐 Poached Pear + Ginger Cake
🍛 Prawn + Fish Lemongrass Curry
🌱 Tofu + Spinach Masala
🍠 Sweet Potato + Tuna Bake (a nod to my mum’s ‘Tuna Pasta Bake’ — the same comforting flavours, just my own take on it).

Cooking always teaches me something, and yesterday it reminded me that the things that once challenged us can eventually become the things that bring us the joy.
