We’re proud to support Sing Sing Sing, Queensland’s first dementia choir — a wonderful community where people living with dementia and their care partners come together to sing, connect and share joy.
Every week, the choir meets in Bulimba and Redlands to sing songs from the 1920s through to today. No singing experience is needed — just a love of music and community.

💪Why Strength Training Matters to Us — and Why We Are Teaching This Workshop

We see it every day. People come to us thinking they need to “get fit” or “lose weight,” but what they really gain is confidence, resilience, and a sense of control over their own body. Strength training teaches you how to move better, feel stronger, and handle the demands of everyday life with more ease.

It’s also one of the most effective ways to support long-term health — improving bone density, joint stability, metabolism, and overall quality of life. This isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about longevity.

So why are we running this workshop?
Because too many people feel unsure, intimidated, or overwhelmed when it comes to strength training. We want to change that.

This workshop is about:
• Learning proper technique in a supportive environment
• Understanding how to train safely and effectively
• Building confidence with strength-based movements
• Giving you tools you can actually use long-term

This week we’re diving into Functional Fitness — the kind of movement that makes everyday life feel easier, steadier and more comfortable.

Functional fitness isn’t about big gym lifts or high‑intensity workouts. It’s about training your body to handle the real‑world movements you do every day:
- getting up and down from the ground
- lifting groceries
- reaching, bending and twisting
- climbing stairs
- keeping your balance on uneven ground
- moving with confidence and less stiffness
In class we’ll work through a mix of:
• strength for joints and posture
• balance and fall‑prevention drills
• mobility to keep you moving freely
• low‑impact cardio to support heart health
• simple, practical exercises you can use at home

Everything is tailored for over‑50s, beginners, and anyone wanting a supportive approach. You can move at your own pace, and every exercise has options.
Bring water, a hat, mat and yourself and enjoy the cooler weather.
