WTF -my worst nightmare

Detectives from the Rural and Stock Crime Squad are appealing for public assistance after a horse was unlawfully killed in Ipswich last month.

The pregnant palomino mare was found dead by its owner, with a gunshot wound, in the paddock of a rural property on Ripley Road in South Ripley.

Initial investigations indicate the horse was shot by an unknown person/s sometime in the early hours of October 25.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area or has information about the incident is urged to come forward as investigations continue.

**UPDATE: We're still expecting thunderstorms through the Mallee and Wimmera into the evening. The risk of severe thunderstorms has reduced. Showers and thunderstorms are expected around Melbourne from 8 pm.**

Thunderstorms are expected across much of Victoria this afternoon and evening.

• West, north west, and northern areas will see possible severe thunderstorms with damaging winds.
• Most other parts of the state will also get thunderstorms, except far East Gippsland.

Get ready now:
• Tie down or put away loose items like trampolines and outdoor furniture.
• Park your car under cover and away from trees.

There is a moderate risk of thunderstorm asthma in the Northern Country, Mallee, South West, and Wimmera.

If you have hayfever or asthma:
• Stay indoors with windows and doors closed.
• Keep your reliever medicine with you and know asthma first aid.
