Who are we?

Imaging 2GO Inc is a recently formed company aimed at revolutionizing the way Health Care is delivered in Barbados. Mobile Digital Imaging(MDI) is a unique service option designed to enhance health care at the point of care. This Mobile X-ray equipment uses state of the art technology out of Germany (EU certified and certified by a local medical physicist).

What we Do?

We offer Radiology service brought to the patient’s bedside (home/clinic). Images are acquired and available immediately on-site and reports are generated remotely. The main equipment consists of a flat panel detector, a notebook computer and an X-ray tube all operating wirelessly.

Who would benefit from this service?

· Patients with restricted mobility

· Persons who may prefer the privacy of their own spaces

· Where accessibility is an issue in terms of location (prison, cruise ships, airport)

· Persons with busy schedules who don’t want to use the traditional outpatient X-ray facilities and can now schedule their procedure at a time and place convenient to them.

How do I activate the service?

How long after activation of the service can I get my procedure?

This will depend on the urgency of the case. Emergency cases are given priority and can be fully completed in 2hrs of activation of the service.

Other procedures can be scheduled at the patient’s convenience.

Can we accommodate all patients?

The only restriction is if you weigh over 275 lbs and your examination requires you to lie directly on the plate. Over this weight limit it is likely to cause structural and physical damage to the plate and therefore your X-ray would not be possible using the mobile unit.

Are there any risk to having an X-ray?

X-rays are another form of electromagnetic radiation that is used to see in your body. While the radiation does not remain in your body, it does interact as it passes through to form the image. This interaction (ionization) over time and prolonged use can cause damage to cells. However, the risk is not often greater than exposed to other form of radiations.

To minimise risk to patient they are certain precautions to be taken:

Request MUST be referred

Minimum dose of Radiation is used to acquire the image following the international ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable).

Persons not having the x-ray must be 2meters (6ft) away from the patient and the source.

Any person assisting must wear lead protection gear.
