Please remember that if you make a booking for the diabetic screening clinic that you must tell the receptionists when you speak to them, otherwise they may place you into a routine general clinic where the fees and waits are quite different.

When patients on eye drop medication arrive for their appointments, I always ask whether they have used the meds within the past 24 hours. They often say "no, Doc, I knew I was coming so I didn't take it today". My response is that "my examination is geared at checking how the drop is working so if it's not in your eye right now, chances are that it's not working right now, hence this is possibly a wasted visit".
Please continue to use all your meds when going for consultations except for ointments - these the view and make the examination difficult. :)

Sometimes people who see well with their glasses and want to get a new frame are surprised when we are required to examine them to give a new prescription. Their argument on the face of it seems quite logical, "why can't I just have back the same prescription as last time?" The answer is very similar to buying shoes: we all know our foot size but rarely buy a new pair without trying them first.
