I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Winners' Circle Inc., under the guidance of Madam Justice Barbara Cooke-Alleyne, for organizing "A Day at Court."

This program was thoughtfully created to assist students who may be displaying delinquent behaviors by providing them with the chance to observe a court case at the Supreme Court.

The young participants from my two programs, SAFE Zone and Bridge to the World, found the session to be incredibly enjoyable.

We are very much looking forward to continuing this partnership.

SAFE Zone continues its weekly sessions, providing enriching learning experiences for young men.

Yesterday's session was particularly powerful, with the first half dedicated to Men and Masculinities, and the second half focusing on Forgiveness.

It was truly remarkable to witness the level of self-awareness demonstrated by the boys as they acknowledged personal traumas and challenges related to forgiveness.

A heartfelt thank you to Gerald Walcott for delivering such an impactful session.

The second week of the SAFE Zone program was truly remarkable.πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

Youth pastor Gershon Forde kindly joined us and led the boys in a very insightful discussion about self-identity and self-awareness.😎

Following this, the boys participated in another engaging activity on the playing field designed to foster teamwork, communication, patience, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, coordination, and critical thinking. We believe that adolescents learn life skills most effectively through hands-on activities. βš½οΈπŸ†πŸŽ―

Counseling is a key component of our program. These sessions provided a safe and supportive environment for the boys to explore their thoughts and feelings in healthy ways.

We concluded each day with a thorough debriefing session with our dedicated volunteer staff.

We eagerly anticipate week 3. πŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

A Day at Court with the SAFE Zone programme.

We would like to express our gratitude to Madam Justice Barbara Cooke-Alleyne and the Winning Circle team for organizing this highly engaging and educational session.

The SAFE Zone boys and volunteers were warmly welcomed by the Chief Justice of Barbados, after which they had the opportunity to observe two court proceedings. A Q&A session followed, allowing for further clarification and discussion.

The SAFE Zone participants described the visit as one of the most impactful experiences they have had thus far.

The SAFE Zone program remains committed to working with teenage boys, fostering their development into responsible and well-rounded individuals who will positively contribute to society.

The pinnacle of the SAFE Zone program was Shadow Day, which provided the first work experience for our young participants.

These young men demonstrated a keen interest in the professional world, and SAFE Zone, with the support of numerous businesses, made their aspirations a reality.

The comprehensive training we provided equipped them with the necessary foundation to function effectively in a professional setting.

The positive feedback received from employers and mentors who hosted our participants during Shadow Day was truly remarkable.

SAFE Zone is making a tangible difference in the lives of our teenage boys, one step at a time.

We extend our sincere gratitude to CORBAR Solutions, Starcom Network, Odolls Aluminum & Glass, Hotel Foods Barbados, BFPA (Barbados Family Planning Association), Sublime Prints, Jason Best (Air-conditioning), and Ryan Gittens (Solar systems) for their invaluable support in making Shadow Day a success.

The SAFE Zone 2024 Professional Development training program has concluded. We would like to express our gratitude to the Honorable Chad Blackman for taking the time to address the group and share his valuable insights with the young men.

We also want to extend a special thank you to the entire volunteer team. Their dedication and mentorship were instrumental in the success of the program.

We are particularly grateful to Tracia Nakita Sargeant , for her tireless efforts in ensuring the success of SAFE Zone.

Finally, we would like to congratulate Nyje Grannum, an exceptional young man with remarkable potential. With the right guidance and support, he is destined for great achievements.

We would also like to acknowledge the remarkable growth and transformation of all the boys who participated in the program. It was truly inspiring to witness their journey from shyness to presenting their business plans and journals. The improvements in their overall appearance, including their dress and grooming, were also commendable.

We are excited to continue working with young men across Barbados, empowering them to reach their full potential.
