Root to Rise Yoga & Wellness

Root to Rise Yoga & Wellness Classes are offered in our intimate indoor space or on our spacious outdoor covered deck. Sign up for classes is required.

Root to Rise Yoga and Wellness is a warm and welcoming studio located in Barbados offering small group classes and one-on-one private sessions appropriate for all levels – beginners are welcome! Class sizes are kept small which allows for a more personalized experience where you can work on alignment, feel comfortable to ask questions, and connect with others. Regular yoga practice cultivates health and wellbeing (physical, emotional, mental, and social) but it also provides an opportunity to turn inwards. Yoga allows us to connect and nourish our body, mind, and soul and can be experienced both on and off the mat and we look forward to sharing the practice with you!

We are stronger when we are supported by community! What a lovely practice this evening. Closing their eyes and trusting that the members of the community will help them stay grounded. I feel honoured and blessed to lead some very amazing people in practice each week and to be one of the teachers on their journey.

Scrolling through pics and found this beauty from class on Sunday You can feel the release, the calm, the peace. Yoga is a wonderful tool available whenever you need it to find that sense of calm, that all is right with the world, that I am exactly where I am meant to be moment. It is truly magical.

When I came across this quote it gave me a reason to pause. Can I let go of stress, let go of what I do not need, let go of ego? Can I lead a more minimalistic lifestyle? Can I find freedom in living lighter and spreading that light? Can I trust that all I need is within me right now? Well I can certainly try because feeling light and free and letting go of the heavy sounds pretty amazing doesn’t it? What questions does this quote bring to your mind? Been working on dolphin pose a lot in my personal practice. Using this pose to open & strengthen my shoulders and arms. Core engagement is key in this pose too! When I look at this picture of myself I see progress but room for improvement and that is OK! Uttanasana or standing forward fold. This is another of my favourite asanas…I know I have a lot 😊. It calms the mind, relieves tension and stretches the back of the body. I love that you can make it accessible by using blocks and bending your knees as much as you need to. You can make it your own by taking a twist, taking feet wide, swaying from side to side. I could go on and on about how much I love this pose. Remember to fold to your own degree, use your props and listen to your body and always always move with love ❤️
