PTIB is always committed to give back to the community. In May, PTIB arranged a 2 days training on peacebuilding, violent extremism and inclusive social cohesion in partnership with Amplifying The Unheard Voices of Marginalized Youth at Khagrachari, Chattogram, Bangladesh. 20 adolescents and youths from the community attended and gained knowledge on various relevant topics on peacebuilding, preventing violent extremism and social cohesion.

Professional Translators and Interpreters Bangladesh (PTIB), with the partnership of Amplifying The Unheard Voices of Marginalized Youth is organizing a two days training event for local adolescents and youths of Khagrachari, Chittagong Hill District, Bangladesh on Peacebuilding, Preventing Violent Extremism and inclusive Social Cohesion. Day 1 was filled with lots of fun, curiosity and learning.
This project is funded by European Union.

Happy International Mother Language Day 2021!

Our volunteers and staff members come from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Some of them speak endangered languages. We hope that necessary steps would be taken to preserve and include these languages so that every child can grow up receiving education in their own mother language and express themselves to their hearts’ content. As linguists, bilinguals and polyglots, we believe in the beauty of diverse languages and will keep on working in the restoration, preservation and inclusion of those languages we are affiliated with. Join us on Wednesday night (8pm +8) as Dr. Ye Min Htet and I talk about community responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

I will be sharing briefly, the experience of working with Professional Translators and Interpreters Bangladesh - PTIB volunteer group and Charulata 'চারুলতা' (সুপ্ত সত্তায় প্রাণের সঞ্চারণ)' as they developed safety protocols and distributed over 3 tonnes of emergency relief aid to vulnerable families living in low income areas in Bangladesh.

I will also be sharing some important survey data that Cancer Research Malaysia collected during the lockdown in Malaysia to assess the impact of the Movement Control Order (MCO) on Breast Cancer patients.
