✨ জনদরদী নেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়াকে নিয়ে আমার স্মৃতিচারণ ✨
২০১২ সালের ১৩ ই ফেব্রুয়ারী জনদরদী নেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়া সর্বশেষ আমার হোমটাউন চাঁদপুরে এসেছিলেন। সেদিন তিনি চাঁদপুর স্টেডিয়াম মাঠের জনসভার মঞ্চে ভাষণ প্রদান করেছিলেন। চাঁদপুরে বিরোধী দলীয় নেতা হিসেবে এটাই ছিল তাঁর প্রথম জনসভা।
আমার এখনো স্পষ্ট মনে আছে—তিনি চাঁদপুরে আসার প্রায় এক সপ্তাহ আগ থেকেই পুরো চাঁদপুর শহরে এক ধরনের উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশ বিরাজ করছিল। মূলত ২০১২ সালের ২৯ জানুয়ারি বিএনপির গণমিছিলের সময় পুলিশের সঙ্গে সংঘর্ষে গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে চাঁদপুরে বিএনপির কয়েকজন কর্মী নিহত হন। আর সেই নিহত কর্মীদের পরিবারের সদস্যদের সান্ত্বনা জানাতেই চাঁদপুরে এসেছিলেন জনদরদী নেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়া।
তো সেই সময় তিনি চাঁদপুরে আসার বেশ ক’দিন আগ থেকেই আমার প্রবল ইচ্ছে ছিল—মঞ্চের খুব কাছে গিয়ে তাঁকে দেখবো এবং তাঁর ভাষণ শুনবো। ইচ্ছেমতোই হলো; তিনি যখন চাঁদপুরে এলেন, তখন লাখো মানুষের বিশাল জনসমুদ্রের ভিড় পেরিয়ে আমি একেবারে মঞ্চের সামনে বাঁশের বেড়ার কাছে গিয়ে দাঁড়ালাম, এবং সেখান থেকেই তাঁকে কাছ থেকে দেখলাম এবং তাঁর পুরো ভাষণ মন দিয়ে শুনলাম।
ভাষণের প্রায় শেষের দিকে আমি খুবই বিপদে পড়েছিলাম। কারণ আমি ছিলাম মঞ্চের খুবই কাছাকাছি; সামনে বাঁশের বেড়া আর পিছন থেকে বিশাল জনসমুদ্রের চাপের কারণে ঠিকভাবে দাঁড়াতে পারছিলাম না। একপর্যায়ে শ্বাসকষ্টও অনুভব হচ্ছিল। আল্লাহ সেদিন আমাকে রক্ষা করেছিলেন।
তবুও, আমি অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত ছিলাম, কারণ জনদরদী নেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়াকে এত কাছ থেকে দেখার এবং তাঁর ভাষণ শোনার আকাঙ্ক্ষা সেদিন পূরণ হয়েছিল।
✨ My Reminiscence About the People’s Leader Begum Khaleda Zia ✨
On 13th February 2012, the people’s leader Begum Khaleda Zia last came to my hometown, Chandpur. That day, she gave a speech on the stage of Chandpur Stadium. This was her first public meeting in Chandpur as an opposition leader.
I still remember clearly—almost a week before her arrival, the whole city of Chandpur had a kind of festive atmosphere. Mainly, on 29th January 2012, during a BNP procession, some BNP workers were shot by the police in clashes, and a few BNP workers were killed in Chandpur. And Begum Khaleda Zia had come to Chandpur to console the family members of those killed.
At that time, from a few days before she arrived, I had a strong desire—to go very close to the stage and see her and hear her speech. My wish was fulfilled; when she came to Chandpur, I went through the huge crowd of millions of people and stood right in front of the stage, near the bamboo fence, and from there, I saw her up close and listened carefully to her entire speech.
Near the end of the speech, I got into great danger. Because I was very close to the stage; with the bamboo fence in front and the huge crowd pressing from behind, I could not stand properly. At one point, I even felt shortness of breath. Allah protected me that day.
Still, I was extremely happy, because my desire to see the people’s leader Begum Khaleda Zia so close and hear her speech was fulfilled that day.
