Manage Your Tension-Type Headache at the Office:
Take a Micro-Break
When we say "work-stress headache," the most likely diagnosis is a Tension-Type Headache (TTH). It is the most common type of headache globally—with around two billion people living with it, and where stress is its primary trigger.
That tight, band-like pressure around your head is often a direct result of your muscles clenching in response to stress. Taking a five-minute micro-break to step away and close your eyes is a direct counter-attack that helps your clenched jaw and tight shoulder muscles to relax and gives your overworked brain a moment of quiet. The simplest act interrupts the stress-headache cycle, dialing down the tension before the pain can build up.
Step away from your desk.
Close your eyes
for five minutes.
