GenePath Founder Dr. Mustak Ibn Ayub delivered a highly appreciated invited talk titled "Precision Medicine in Bangladesh: Closer and More Achievable Than We Think" at the University of Dhaka on 18 September 2025. He was invited to speak at the special Symposium on "Strengthening Industry-Academia Partnership in Healthcare and Material Sciences", jointly organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

In his talk, Dr. Ayub emphasized how domestically available facilities can be effectively utilized to make precision testing more affordable and accessible in Bangladesh.

August 29, 2025 – A Historic Milestone for GenePath and Bangladesh

Today marks a historic moment as GenePath formally initiated the national conversation on cancer genetic counseling in Bangladesh.

A landmark workshop was hosted at GenePath’s own premises, bringing together 18 participants — including doctors, pathologists, students, pharmaceutical executives, and government officials. The session explored the principles and practices of genetic counseling, as well as opportunities for future research collaborations.

The atmosphere was as cordial and interactive as possible, with lively discussions, shared insights, and genuine curiosity. The event concluded over laughter, strengthened connections, and promises of continued collaboration — all over a beautiful lunch.

GenePath remains committed to driving change in Bangladesh’s healthcare landscape by integrating modern, world-class facilities and services for our patients and our people. This is just the beginning of a journey toward equitable, advanced, and compassionate cancer care for all.

Starting Cancer Genetic Counseling: A Milestone for GenePath

Today marks a significant milestone for GenePath- our very first case of introductory cancer genetic counseling. The individual had a family history of certain cancers and arrived with questions they had never felt comfortable asking their physicians. This moment underscores exactly why genetic counseling matters: it creates space for clarity, compassion, and informed decision-making.

This initiative is for the patients and people of our nation- those who deserve care that matches global standards. And together, we can make that a reality. GenePath is proud to lead this collective effort toward equitable, personalized cancer care in Bangladesh.

আজ GenePath-এর জন্য একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিন। আমাদের প্রথম ভিজিটরকে ক্যান্সার জেনেটিক কাউন্সেলিং সেবা প্রদান করা হয়েছে। তার পরিবারে কিছু নির্দিষ্ট ধরনের ক্যান্সার বিদ্যমান, এবং তিনি এমন কিছু প্রশ্ন নিয়ে এসেছিলেন যা আগে কোনো চিকিৎসকের কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করতে পারেননি। ঠিক এই কারণেই জেনেটিক কাউন্সেলিং প্রয়োজন- যেখানে রোগী নিজের উদ্বেগ ও প্রশ্নের জন্য নিরাপদ জায়গা পান।

এই উদ্যোগ আমাদের দেশের সাধারণ মানুষ ও রোগীদের জন্য, যারা উন্নত দেশের মতো যত্ন পাওয়ার অধিকার রাখেন। আমরা একসাথে কাজ করলে সেই সেবা নিশ্চিত করা সম্ভব।

GenePath এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ড. মুশতাক ইবনে আয়ূব আগামী শুক্রবার কথা বলছেন ক্যান্সার চিকিৎসায় জেনেটিক প্রোফাইলের গুরুত্ব বিষয়ে। দেশে এ বিষয়ে সর্বমহলে সচেতনতা তৈরিতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখছেন তিনি।

ক্যান্সারের আধুনিক চিকিৎসায় জেনেটিক টেস্ট এখন অবশ্য প্রয়োজনীয় একটি বিষয়। ক্যান্সারের মূল কারণ আমাদের জিনের কিছু ক্ষতিকর পরিবর্তন যা পরবর্তীতে আমাদের কোষের বিপাকপ্রক্রিয়াসহ নানান অসঙ্গতি তৈরি করে। এসব অসঙ্গতিরই চূড়ান্ত রূপ হচ্ছে ক্যান্সার।
