World Heart Day is celebrated every year on September 29 to raise awareness about keeping our hearts healthy and reducing the risk of heart disease. This year’s theme, “Don’t Miss a Beat,” reminds us that every heartbeat truly matters.
In Bangladesh, the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) marked the day with a series of activities, including free blood grouping, blood pressure and ECG checks, a vibrant rally, and a scientific seminar. The event was organized by the NICVD CME Committee with Renata PLC as the scientific partner.
The program began with a colorful rally, followed by an insightful seminar where leading physicians discussed the main causes of heart disease and practical ways to prevent it.
Special guest Prof. Dr. A. F. Khabir Uddin Ahmed honored the occasion with his presence. In addition, Prof. Dr. Md. Khalequzzaman, Professor of Cardiology at NICVD, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of heart health for a longer, healthier life. The session was moderated by Dr. Mohammad Anisul Goni Khan, Assistant Professor of Cardiology, NICVD.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Md. Tanbir Sajib, Chief Marketing Officer of Renata PLC, who shared the company’s commitment to providing world-class, bioequivalent cardiovascular medicines for patients across Bangladesh.
A day of learning, awareness, and shared commitment to building a heart-healthy nation!
