The mental nerve (branch of the inferior alveolar nerve from mandibular nerve) typically divides into three main branches after emerging from the mental foramen:

1.Inferior labial branch
→ Supplies the skin and mucous membrane of the lower lip

2.Mental (cutaneous) branch
→ Supplies the skin of the chin

3.Gingival branch
→ Supplies the gingiva (labial mucosa) of mandibular anterior teeth

One of my patient from Dhaka Dental College Hospital

A 6years old boy on his way to madrasha comes with a H/O RTA.On CT scan of MaxilloFacial region his both sided zygomatic buttress fracture was identified which is linear and incomplete.He has also left sided mandibular parasymphysis fracture.
From his admission he was treated with injectable antibiotics and steroids and other conservative management was given.
Once his swelling was being decreased after proper reduction Eyelet wiring was done from lower left A to D(2nd picture)
Patients comes for follow up after 7days.Alhamdulillah he is recovering quickly(3rd picture)
Will share this case in more details when patients will become fully recovered...

A 2 years old boy,H/O falling from height comes with a swelling of lower face and anterior dislocation of the lower jaw was noted,causing facial asymmetry and restricted jaw movement.There was also lacerated lower lip.However there was no mobility of teeth.

On X-ray A/P view it was noted that there was a fracture in his symphsis region.

♠ Direct wiring was done from B A | A B and simple interupted suturing was done in the lower lip.

For follow up patient was being told to come after 2weeks of interval.
