This picture has been taken 24 hours after Tonsillectomy. Tonsillar fossae were covered by autologous Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) sheet at the end of operation. The PRF sheet remain adherent to tonsillar fossae. PRF sheet is believed to help in quick healing, prevent reactionary haemorrhage, prevent infection n secondary haemorrhage. It also lessens postoperative pain.
This is a part of my research project. After doing at least 50 cases , result will be analysed n published in Medical Journal. Thanks.

This autologous PRF sheet can be used in different ENT operations like Tympanoplasty as graft . It may be also used to cover tonsillar fossa after tonsillectomy operation where it helps in quick healing, preventing bleeding n infection.
