National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh (NHFB) and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) hosted a consultative workshop on 24 December at the BRTA head office to review the draft road safety law.

Participants included representatives from BRTA, the Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD), Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), Roads and Highways Department (RHD), Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, and civil society organizations such as BRAC, DAM, and the Road Safety Foundation.

The workshop aimed to ensure a clear understanding of the key provisions of the proposed law. Stakeholders shared their perspectives on road safety challenges, discussed how the provisions could be implemented, and examined how the framework aligns with national priorities and institutional mandates. This was an important step toward building consensus and moving closer to safer roads across Bangladesh. The program was presided over by Mr.Abu Momtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, BRTA.
