In the weekend of Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October you will find out how the designers of Tropas, La Gadoue, Triptiek and AMA work with various textile residue streams and design them into high-quality shoes, women's clothing & interior design.
They are central guests during the Open Atelier of ONBETAALBAAR in Ghent and present their products to you. So feel free to pop in and take a look at their collections of women's clothing, shoes and interior design.
These designers were selected for the collective research project TOP-atelier, which aims to demonstrate by spring 2021 that it can be profitable and scalable to produce high-quality design products from post consumer textile waste streams in Belgium. TOP-atelier's partners and the designers are doing this by conducting research into the sorting, selection and cutting methods of this specific residual flow. With the intention of sharing this knowledge and lessons learned with other designers and artists and writing policy recommendations.
TOP-atelier is an initiative of IVOC - Opleiding & Advies voor Mode en Confectie, Creamoda Belgian Fashion, DOEK, De Kringwinkel Ecoso and Prospex Institute, with the support of Vlaanderen Circulair.
