Europe’s parcel delivery networks connect millions of people, homes, and businesses every day.

A new study study by Copenhagen Economics shows that this market is competitive, innovative, and delivering good value for consumers.

📦 Multiple operators and diverse business models
💶 Affordable prices
😊 High satisfaction levels
🏠 Reliable service across communities

The study finds no structural issues that would require new heavy regulation. As discussions on the EU Delivery Act continue, it’s important that decisions are grounded in facts and support a strong, competitive Europe.

Azərpoçt LLC has released a special postage stamp dedicated to the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in on May 17–22.

As part of the event, an official cancellation ceremony of the postage stamp prepared for WUF13 also took place.

It should be especially noted that the main feature of the stamp is that it is printed on recycled paper. The “recycle paper” label placed on the margin of the souvenir sheet also reflects this environmentally friendly approach. The stamp was printed in a souvenir sheet format with a circulation of 4,000 by bpost (Belgian Post).

This issue once again demonstrates Azerpost’s special approach to international events in the field of philately, as well as its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. It should be recalled that previously, Azerpost LLC had also issued a postage stamp dedicated to COP29—the first in the region—printed on recycled paper.

It should be noted that WUF13 is held within the framework of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).

The event is considered an important global platform for discussions on sustainable urban development, safe living environments, and resilient communities of the future.

🌍 Philately as a Platform for Cooperation, Culture and the Future
On 15–16 April, PostEurop, in close cooperation with Azərpoçt LLC (AZCON Holding), held the Stamps & Philately Working Group meeting in Baku, bringing together European postal operators, partners from UPU & WADP, as well as the Postcrossing community, collectors and enthusiasts.

Key discussions focused on:

·✉️ the evolving role of postage stamps in a digital age
·🤝 strengthening international cooperation
·🎓 engaging younger generations with philately

A highlight of the programme was the celebration of 70 years of EUROPA stamps, including the cancellation ceremony of the anniversary issue and the presentation of the winning 2026 design by Posti Group Oyj (Finland).

Day 2 focused on strategic and future‑oriented initiatives, including the Stamp 2027 guidelines, insights on reversing declining trends in philately, results of the Philately Trends Survey, updates from Universal Postal Union/WADP, first concepts for upcoming initiatives and the announcement of the EUROPA Stamp 2028 theme voting results, complemented by outreach visits in .

From traditional stamps to innovation — including digital formats — and from cultural heritage to people‑to‑people connections, the meeting once again demonstrated that philately remains a powerful medium for shared values and creativity across Europe.

By hosting and actively contributing to international initiatives, Azerpost is strengthening Azerbaijan’s voice within the global postal and philatelic community and helping to shape the future of the sector — presenting philately not as a legacy of the past, but as a dynamic platform for education, creativity and meaningful connection across generations and borders.

Looking ahead, PostEurop is pleased to return to Baku in October for the PostEurop General Assembly, continuing this strong spirit of collaboration.
