First opening hours of a brand-new chapter for Bicoli ! The library looks forward to welcoming you at One Field Fallow (OFF).
One Field Fallow is a queer-run collective and workplace. Sprouted from a disused night shop, OFF serves as a space for political organising, weird (artistic) research, knowledge sharing, and community building.

Details of the May and June drop-in sessions will be announced very soon !! Can’t wait to finally see you again

🙀RETURN THE BOOKS 😿 (Do you recognize our 3 mascot cats? 💅) ⬇️ EN VERSION

Bicoli is a shared resource, supported by the commitment of an entire team of volunteers. Behind every book made available, there is time given, energy shared and money invested, with a single intention: to give everyone access to valuable works. Taking care of Bicoli means recognising this collective effort.

Returning borrowed books is a small gesture, but it is a big thank you to those who bring this project to life and a way to allow others to enjoy it in turn.

There is still time to drop off or send us the books you borrowed! Especially since we will be back very soon with a new address ;)

And if you would like to make a donation to the collective, here is a booklist of unreturned books that are missing from our shelves and that we think are important to make available to you.

🔹Arpentage workshop: Trans care 🔹 Saturday 29 November 🔹 Near Chapelle/Sablons, 2pm-6pm

As part of a series of surveys on topics related to care, its political aspects, and in particular mental health and psychosocial services, in conjunction with TDOR (Trans Day of Remembrance), Bicoli is offering an afternoon of collective reading and reflection in a mixed-gender setting, with a selection of texts (slide 2).

The readings are in French and English, but discussions can take place in Frenglish without any problem. The idea is to read together to stimulate discussion and share our points of view, experiences and resources. We will also collectively choose reading methods during the workshop in order to adapt to the group's concentration levels.

Attending this survey implies taking an active stance of politicisation and critical questioning of healthcare systems and the systemic oppressions they reproduce.

We are two white transmasculine people behind this survey initiative. If you have any suggestions for texts that you would like to read collectively, they are most welcome. Feel free to bring along your favourite trans comfort books.

A voluntary financial contribution is welcome to cover printing and refreshment costs. Cash or QR code accepted.

Petits changements concernants les permanences du mois d'avril.
Celles-ci seront les dernières permanences Bicoli avant une pause temporaire pour cause de déménagement 📦 On vous encourage à retourner vos livres empruntés lors des dates suivantes ❤️‍

🍀 Pour les permanences du 6.04 et du 8.04 :
Bicoli sera ouverte aux visiteur.euses pour lire sur place et faire des retours de livres mais fermée aux emprunts.

🍀 Les permanences prévues le 20.04 et le 22.04 seront uniquement dédiées a réceptionner vos retours. Des personnes de la team seront présentes sur place.

📫 La boîte aux lettres pour vos rendus de livres petits et bien protégés reste une option pour vos retours mais attention à partir du 22 avril au soir elle sera aussi fermée.

Hello Bicoli friends ☀️

We're making a few changes to our opening times in April.
These will be the last Bicoli drop-ins before a temporary break due to a move 📦 We encourage you to return your borrowed books on the following dates ❤️‍

🍀 For the opening hours on 6.04 and 8.04 :
Bicoli will be open to visitors to read on site and return books but closed to borrowing.

🍀 The opening hours on 20.04 and 22.04 will be dedicated solely to receiving your returns. Members of the team will be on hand.

📫 The letterbox for returning small, well-protected books is still an option, but from the evening of 22 April it will also be closed.

Afin de continuer les activités de la collective, nous avons établi quelques critères importants :
- de 50 à 80m2 si c’est un lieu complet qui peut accueillir salon, étagères, espace en plus pour ateliers
- 12m au total de murs droits pour étagères de livres et brochures
- rdc avec accès PMR (et WC au rdc), dans nos rêves :)
- chauffage
- accès du public au lieu 2x semaine
- accès au collectif : libre ou à prévoir avec le lieu
- loyer : très petit budget (à négocier selon les propositions)
- hébergement longue durée
- idéalement une pièce exclusive à notre collectif qui se ferme à clé
- plusieurs clés
- idéalement situé dans les communes autour de bxl centre ou très desservies en transports publiques
- on serait ravies de rejoindre un lieu déjà existant (théâtre, lieu culturel, autre)
