The International Academy of Osteopathy lanceert begin juli Borelli: ons nieuwe academische platform.
Vernoemd naar Giovanni Alfonso Borelli (1608–1679), grondlegger van de biomechanica, en symbool voor wetenschappelijke diepgang, denken in structuur & functie en academische excellentie.

Borelli wordt het centrale digitale ecosysteem voor studenten en docenten: cursusmateriaal, communicatie, roosters en academische opvolging in één geïntegreerde omgeving.

Based in London for over three decades, Valéria is an internationally renowned osteopath, educator and researcher — known for her deeply embodied approach to osteopathic practice and education. She has taught across Europe, the UK, Brazil, and continues to inspire practitioners through her unique integration of structural, fascial, visceral and cranial perspectives.

🌍 World Osteopathic Healthcare Week (WOHW) 🌍

This week, we proudly join the global osteopathic community in celebrating World Osteopathic Healthcare Week, led by the Osteopathic International Alliance.

They strive to highlight the important contribution of osteopathic health care professionals in the delivery of safe and effective care to key strategic areas, and to address challenges, such as the needs of an ageing population, healthcare workforce shortages and societal focus on disease-driven care rather than on prevention-driven care.

Founded in 2004, the OIA brings together nearly 80 member organisations from across the globe, uniting osteopathic physicians and osteopaths under shared standards for education, regulation and professional recognition. Since 2018, the OIA has also been the only osteopathic organisation in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO), through the Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) unit.

Throughout this week, OIA highlights important topics such as:

• Why clear standards and scope of practice matter in osteopathic care
• What patients really think about osteopathy
• Why the OIA Global Reports are vital for the profession

Last week, our Joint-Principal Yourik Van Overloop delivered an inspiring lecture 'From Physiotherapy to Osteopathy: Expanding Clinical Perspective' at the College of Physical Therapy – Misr University for Science & Technology, Cairo 🇪🇬.

Building on this strong academic collaboration, we are proud to announce that from October 2026, the Osteopathic Manipulative Techniques (OMT) programme will be offered in Cairo, Egypt.

About the programme

This advanced programme is designed for medical doctors and physiotherapists who want to:

✔️ Develop high-level, precise and safe osteopathic manipulative techniques
✔️ Apply these techniques confidently in clinical practice
✔️ Strengthen their clinical reasoning and hands-on skills
