All our degrees comply with the Bologna Process and we have several academic partners such as The Buckinghamshire New University and The University of Applied Sciences Tyrol (fhg). Wat een fijne dag in Gent! 🤩 Op zaterdag 14 maart waren we met de IAO aanwezig op de Beurs der Kinesitherapeuten, georganiseerd door HILOK. Een dag vol warme babbels, nieuwsgierige vragen en enthousiaste studenten die klaarstaan om hun carrière vorm te geven. 💬✨

Wij mochten er toekomstige kinesitherapeuten inspireren en informeren over hun mogelijke volgende stap: osteopathie. Het doet deugd om zoveel interesse te zien in ons vakgebied en in de doorgroeimogelijkheden die we bij de IAO bieden. 🙌

On March 14, 1995, we said goodbye to Michel Janssens — an exceptional osteopath and one of the founding pillars of The International Academy of Osteopathy in 1987.

His visionary approach to teaching and his deep dedication to the profession left a lasting imprint on our Academy.

In his honor, we annually present the Michel Janssens Award to our top-performing student — a reflection of his commitment to excellence and his belief in nurturing future generations of osteopaths.

His legacy continues to guide the way we teach and practice today. The hands‑on philosophy he championed remains at the core of our educational approach — a tradition we proudly carry forward. ✨

📣 Nieuwe opleiding bij IAO: Osteopathie in de Pediatrie – van 0 tot 3 jaar

In de osteopathische praktijk merken we dat steeds meer ouders met hun baby of jong kind ondersteuning zoeken.

Maar hoe werk je als osteopaat veilig, onderbouwd en in vertrouwen met baby’s, jonge kinderen en hun ouders?

De opleiding bestaat uit 7 thematische modules die aansluiten bij meest voorkomende hulpvragen in de praktijk.

Je verdiept je in de ontwikkeling van baby en jong kind (0–3 jaar) en leert deze kennis vertalen naar osteopathisch klinisch handelen.

👶💙 Tijdens deze opleiding:

✨ Leer je als osteopaat aandachtig luisteren naar wat het lichaam van een baby of jong kind vertelt, via observatie van het kind, het verhaal van de ouders, zorgvuldig osteopathisch onderzoek en klinisch redeneren.

✨ Leer je behandelen vanuit een veilige, afgestemde en ontwikkelingsgerichte benadering, met aandacht voor het mentaliseren van ouders en communicatie met ouders en andere zorgverleners.

✨ Wordt leren levendig en praktijkgericht, door kennis en vaardigheden te integreren in interactieve werkvormen, zoals het bestuderen van de anatomie van baby en jong kind in de digitale snijzaal van Enatom.

✨ Maak je deel uit van een groeiende community pediatrische osteopaten.

🎓 Na afloop behaal je het Diploma in Pediatrische Osteopathie (DPO)

📅 7 modules verspreid over 18 maanden
